Camera•Establishing shot of an Estate in East London gives a sense of the location and shows the venerable financial state the Egssy is brought up in.•Fast panning of Egssy running through the estates shows how he is trying to escape his life in a low financial set up.•Establishing shot of the house there is a fast paced zoom to jump straight into action to create a sense of a suspenseful thriller.•The shot where Egssy is tied to a train track the camera is looking at the same angle as the train tracks to put the audience in the position of the character and to help express the danger and his fear for his life.•In the scene where the water is rising the water line is shown half submerging the camera as the characters breath for air. This is another example of action being used to show the risk and danger to the protagonist.

Sound•The background music at the beginning has a building up beat that is slowing creating suspense throughout the trailer.•Harry talking in the background about Egssy past of doing “drugs, petty crime, never had a job” create a bad first impression for the character but in a way it makes you feel bad for him as if it was not all his fault. This is done to set him up as a protagonist who has to seek redemption for all the bad he has done.•The “5, 4, 3, 2, 1” count down build suspense and tension as if something is going to happen. This fits the conventions of the thriller genre.•The background music changes from loud to quiet throughout the trailer. This represents a feeling of “non stop action” and that as soon as you think its a calm scene there is more action. This helps create suspense to “thrill” the audience.

Mise-en-scène•Most of the scenes at the start of the trailer use dark lighting for when the character is venerable. This lighting gets brighter by the end of the trailer to symbolise how the character has changed and is no longer as venerable by becoming a Kingsman agents.•Egssy is always show as walking in front of harry in the scenes at the tailor. This is to show his curiosity and the fact that he is more important than harry as he is the main protagonist in the story.•In the sky diving scene Egssy is positioned at a higher altitude that the other training agents. This is because he is an outsider to the Kingsman group who are all upper class people and Egssy is from the lower class so is shown as separate to the rest of them.•In the beginning Egssy is showing as running away from people (the gang & police car) which also shows how he feels weak and venerable but the last shot of the trailer shows him running towards “bad guys”. This contrast suggests change in the state of the character.

Editing•Cuts between all the shots where Egssy does crime to show his bad reputation but also shows his survival skills as he is shown jumping across buildings.•In the scene where the where Egssy opens the hook to a secret room there are quick cuts to show various weapons in the room to show the dangerous missions of the Kingsman Agents.•When characters are explaining what different weapons do, there are cuts of the weapons in action. This shows the danger as well as the action of Kingsman missions.•Slow motion glass breaking scenes create suspense which helps create a thriller feel.•The camera vibrates every time there is an explosion or a gun fired. This is to create an effect as if the audience were in the scene and so can experience the scene.•Near the end there is a quick cut montage to show a whole bunch of explosions and action to create suspense.•Cut scenes to the production logos in the middle are there to credit the companies and to pull in audiences as there are established brands in the Hollywood industry.
