Good afternoon!
It has been a great week here at Kings Junior High! Our P.A.C.T. program contin-
ues to grow. We now have groups of students volunteering to be a part of a rotating
cleaning crew in our cafeteria. You can hear the fight song in our band and choir
classrooms being performed as well as teams continuing to learn the lyrics. Next
Friday afternoon we will have our official kick-off with Anthony Muñoz as our
guest speaker.
We look forward to a long restful weekend. Please be safe, we will see our students
back here in the classroom on Tuesday!

1) September’s Character Education Trait is respect, what does respect mean in middle
school?
2) Why do you think respect is important to people?
3) How does respect relate to the P.A.C.T. program?
4) How can you show respect to your classmates and teachers this year?
Car Talks are designed to give parents some key topics, connected to school activities
from the week. They are short and not meant to be long conversations, just something
that can happen in a car ride home or to the store.

Getting some use out of our newly cleaned off stage area! So much potential here!

KINGS JR. HIGH
Pride. Attitude. Commitment. Together
P. A . C . T .
At Kings Jr. High, we educate over 675 seventh and eighth grade students. Our goal is to transition students from elemen-tary school to high school academically and socially. Our goal is to educate the whole person in hopes that they will have a direct impact on our school and community. This year we will be launching a new initiative to help us do just that called P.A.C.T.
P.A.C.T is…….
An acronym for Pride, Attitude, Commitment, Together
A positive behavior program that teaches, emphasizes and reinforces character education
An initiative to focus on the individual student as well as that student’s place in the community of learners
All inclusive, from students, parents and teachers, to custodial staff, transportation staff and all support staff in be-tween
Pride, Attitude, Commitment, Together. These are the four pillars of our program and will drive everything we do this year.
We implemented this program last year on a small scale with just one team of seventh graders and the response was over-whelming.
What students are saying about PACT:
“PACT is about being a team, working together, promising we won't do wrong to others”
“One big family,” “Being truthful to each other,” “Depending on each other,” “Bonded together”
“We get to earn rewards and enjoy leadership,” “It brought us closer and made us work as a team”
What parents are saying about PACT:
“PACT impacted my son and made him want to attend school each day”
“PACT gave my child the motivation to do the right thing and find situations to help others”
“My daughter enjoyed the Red Knights because of the PACT drawings and incentives”
What teachers are saying about PACT:
“PACT changed my entire approach and attitude”
“I had the best school year in my 15 years of teaching because of the principles being taught and enforced through the PACT Program”
We are excited to take this initiative building-wide for the 2016-2017 school year, for an increased impact.
