Helearnedalotaboutthedesignbusinessthereandmetanumberofdesigners.

JanalsohadfriendsfromHollandwhowereactiveinthedesignworld.Dick

DankersandCokdeRooyfromtheFrozenFountainandRobDashorstfrom

DaskasintroducedhimtomanyotherdesignersandproductsfromHolland.

Infact,Janhasrepresentedindependentself-producingdesignerssince1987.

Early packaging

WhenKikkerlandstartedtoproduceitsownproducts,italsoneededitsown

packaging.MuchofthiscreativepackagingdesignwasdonebyPieterWoudt.

Earlyon,therewasmoreofanindividuallooktopackaging.Forinstance,each

memberoftheCritterfamilyhaditsownlogoreflectingspeciallooksand

abilities.Butwhentheamountofpackagingmushroomed,itsoonbecameclear

thatitwasnolongerpossibletoalwayscreateindividuallooksandlogos.Still,

packagingisanimportantpartofeveryproduct.BecauseKikkerlanddoesnot

advertisedirectlytoend-consumers,thepackagingisthemosteffectivewayfor

aproducttogetattention.
