Secretary Terry Liller “Liberty Intelligence, Our Nation’s Safety” 2012 - 2013 By-Lions President Greg Lynch September 2012 There have been lots of activities for the Keyser Lions and there are plenty of upcoming events for a busy fall and winter. Our second meeting of August on the 16th was held in Burlington at the Flying "W” Restaurant at 6:00pm. Our speaker was Allan Biser of Team Biser Whitetails. After a fine meal and good conversation, club members drove across the road and took a tour of the Team Biser Whitetails operation. Thank you to Lion Greg Lynch for arranging another informative presentation. You can see photos from the event on the Keyser Lions Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/#!/keyser.lions) By the time you read this we will have held our first meeting of September. This will be our an- nual picnic at the West End Park. Our second meeting of September - on the 20th - will be a special event as well. We will meet at Potomac State at 5:00 pm – not 6:30. After our meal and a brief meeting we will travel to the top of Green Mountain to visit the windmill farm. Gary Wilson will be our host and tour guide for this unique opportunity. Don’t forget to come out early and bring a coat suitable for the top of the mountain! Here are a few other upcoming events that should be of interest to the Keyser Lions: The Annual District 29-I Fall Conference will be held in Blackwater Falls on 19-20 October 2012. Registration forms are due by October 5th. If you plan on attending and staying the night you will need to make your own lodging reservations as the deadline has passed for the re- served block of rooms. Lion Greg Lynch has indicated that he would like to see a good turnout from our club for this event because it is so close to Keyser. You can find the registration form for this conference on the District Governor’s website (http://wvlions29i.blogspot.com/). We will also have copies available at the September 20th meeting. The 17th Annual West Virginia Leadership School will be taking place at Flatwoods Days Hotel from January 25-27th, 2013. More information and registration forms are available on the Dis- trict Governor’s website as well. Looking forward to seeing you at many of these exciting events. Katya
