Keynote Keynote is an Apple designed app that
allows you to open, edit and create
documents
To open Keynote, tap on the Keynote icon
The Home Screen lists all your
presentations currently available in
Keynote
Tap on a presentation to open it
Help icon
Tap on the button for a quick help
guide on what each button does
Editing the document list
Tap on the button to duplicate
or delete documents in the list
Creating a new presentation To create a new document, tap on
Then tap on Create
Presentation
Choose a template if you wish, or tap
on Blank
This is a Slate template
Double tap the text element to
change/add text
Highlight the text for options relating to
that text:
Cut
Copy
Paste
Delete
Replace
Define
Highlight
Comment
Style
Highlight the text box to:
Cut
Copy
Delete
Comment
Animate
Styling the element
Tap on the button to access
the element styling options
Styling options include:
Fill
o Fill colour of the element,
if any
Border
o Border styles and colour
Effects
o Adding a shadow,
reflection or opacity to the
element
Changing Fonts
Tap on the button and make
sure you’re on the Text window
Changing the Font Style
Change the style of the text by tapping
on your preferences
Bold/Italic/Underline/Strikethrough
Left/Right/Centre/Justified alignment
Or Choose a Paragraph style
Arranging the elements
The element can be formatting to
move in front or behind other
elements
Text can be moved to
top/bottom/centre of element
Text can be formatted into
columns (add or subtract any
number)
The margin can also be altered
Lock the element so no further
changes can be made to it – you
can unlock by tapping unlock
Inserting a new Slide
Tap on the button at the bottom
left hand corner to add a new slide
Choose and tap on a slide layout
Edit your slide content
Graphic element
The graphic elements works
essentially the same as a text
element
Style and format as you would a
text element
Move back/front
Or even flip the image
Other Graphics options
As with the Pages and Sheets
apps, you can add auto graphics
such as tables, charts, auto shapes
and images or videos from your
camera roll.
Resize the graphic by tapping, holding
and dragging on the blue circles at the
edges of the graphic
Move the graphic element by tapping
and holding within the graphic borders
and dragging to the new position
Adding an Animation
Add a transition to an element by
tapping on it and selecting
Animate
Tap on OK
Tap on Build in to select an
animation to made the element
appear
Choose the appearing animation
on the Effects tab
Go to the Options tab to choose
Duration, how it appears and any delay
set
The delivery method is available
on the Delivery tab
If you have multiple animations on
the element, you will need to ensure
you have them appearing in your
preferred order.
Do this via the Order tab
Tap on Build Out to select an
animation to made the element
disappear
Select your desired animation type for
how the element is to disappear or
exit the presentation
Tap on Play to preview your
presentation and animations
Presentation Tools Access the tools menu by tapping on
the button
From here you can:
Edit transitions and builds
Find text within your
presentation
Add presenter notes
Looks at further presentation
tools
Adjust your settings
Set a password for your
presentation
Print your presentation
Access further help
Add Presenter notes
Add your presenter notes to your
slideshow by tapping on and
then tapping on Presenter
Notes
Type any notes and select Done
when complete
Presentation Tools
Further Presentation tools consist of
adding:
Interactive links
Soundtracks (from your
music collection)
Changing the presentation
type
o Does it loop, restart
if idle, or self-playing
And allowing remote control
access from another device
Presentation settings
Change and select your settings as
per your preferences
Sharing your presentation
Tap on to share your document via
iCloud, to send a copy via email or to
open in Another App
You can also share your
presentation from the Keynote
homepage by tapping on the
button
Adding a Comment
Add a comment by selecting some text,
and tapping on Comment from the
black pop up box
Type your comments in the
comment box

Tap on the button for a quick
help guide on what each button
does
Keynote remote From the Keynote homepage tap
on the button to set up either
your iPad as a remote to a
presentation on another Apple
device, or do the same within the
Keynote app on your iPhone to
set the iPhone up as a remote to a
presentation on your iPad.
