What are gladiators?

Gladiators were people (mostly men) who risked there life for entertainment for Julius Caesar and

other Romans. Gladiators were named after a sword called the gladius

and they also used shields.

•they fought with piliums (spears), bow and arrows, roman daggers, swords (gladius) and shields plus whips, war chains, nets, javelin, darts.

•Gladiators fought in the coliseums that is an oval shape like cake-tin. The coliseum was like a rugby stadium to gladiators.

•Gladiators played ten - twelve days in a year.

•They had seats for a limited time.
