• The "dimensionable silhouettes" option has been removed, as we now always generate them.

– Use the function Layout>Burst All Instances rather than Edit>Entities>Burst (Generic Burst) this was specifically designed for this purpose & therefore more efficient that the Generic Burst

– The Generic Burst works on each entity it finds one at a time.

– The Burst All Instances works on all the instances at one single time

– ALONG & ALONGN • Use the SHIFT key to activate “NEAR” option as you

drag the dynaHandle along curve to improve better cursor tracking

• First location may be Anchored, uncheck option if dragging behavior is not as expected

• Turn QUICK CHAIN off in Tools>Options>Select when using edges from solids as the ”along” curves

• Chain & SKIP option used to sellect a single solid edge & terminate further chain prompts. Accept keeps you in the chain prompting sequence

Important Notices• Opening Pre-KC2012 Layouts

– The 1st time you open a pre-KC2012 layout it will reprocess for the new PHL technology

• This may take some time depending on layout’s complexity

– Once you have opened (re-processed for new PHL) all the layouts in the file & saved the file, accessing the layout will be faster.

– Changes in the model will re-process layouts, as always, when opened

Backward Compatible

– Any newly created or existing .ckd files saved with KeyCreator2012 are not backward compatible

– Make a backup of your existing .ckd files before moving to KeyCreator 2012


Known Issues

• Bursting a Layout

– When a layout is Burst using Edit>Entities>Burst the layout is reprocessed & this may take some

time depending on layout’s complexity.

– A bursting, performed behind the scenes, affects execution time for some Export functions.

• DWG• DXF• PDF

– A better function to use is Layout>Burst All Instances See Tip & Tricks section

• Custom Cursor

– If you use custom cursor you may have ghost remnants left on screen when cursor moves off drawing area.

– Work around is to also turn on “Cplane Axis Cursor” or turn off all quick moves
