Page Setup• Columns – for equal widths• Bleed – to show the print area• Page size – to have the same
size as a compact newspaper
Toolbar• Type tool – to use when typing headlines/
stories• Pen tool – used to create cut outs from the
images• Rectangle frame tool – to draw shapes to
place images in• Rectangle tool – to draw ordinary shapes• Eyedropper tool – to fill in an area of the
same colour as another area• Hand tool and zoom tool – to view the
document, by panning, zooming in and out

• Fonts and sizes• Text with numbers, strikethrough, metrics, placing,
italic, letter size• Paragraphs, drop capitals,
alignment, justified• Hyphenate• Columns and spacing
Pages and other tabs• Pages – quick navigation
through the pages• Text wrap – to wrap objects and
text around each other i.e. photos around articles
• Colour and swatches – easy to reach and create own colour scheme
