• To improve urban areas landscape quality• To solve conflicts• To enhance urban image
Guidelines aims
• To support local administrations by an operative framework to steer urban areas transformations taking in account landscape values, by particular attention to:– Protection and enhancement of urban image– Requalification of damaged areas and urban fringe– Integration of new residential areas– Improve visual and symbolic quality of urban entrances– Relationship between urban area and countryside taking in
account new function of peri-urban agriculture– Good landscape for location of new economy enterprises

1. Guidelines aims:
A short introduction that explains how the document intends to support local government and administrations to steer urban and peri-urban transformations, taking into account landscape values, in order to:- enhance urban image- improve peri-urban landscape quality- upgrade relationship between urban and rural areas
2. Problem Analysis :
- A short illustration of the problem we are facing. (connection with Observatory)
- A review of different topic situations
3. Diagnosis path suggestions :
A short introduction to explain how to analyse the problem in order to research solution with the emphasis on the importance of landscape reading and of an integrate and strategic approach. (connection with Good Practice - Pilot actions –Sensibilization)
