TRANSPORTATION PROBLEM

Rope wrapping over the donkey cuts into its skin and causes skin problems.

Longer rope are required to load things on donkeys and it takes long time.

Ask the donkey to lay down. Then put things on it and wrap things on donkey with either sisal rope or plastic rope.

TRANSPORTATION WEAVING TEST

Liujingzi Jiang and Moa Jung Will McHaleDesign@Uarts Spring 2012 IDES 302 Studio 3: Project Studio

TRANSPORTATION MATERIAL TEST

Use accessible material (canvas and rope )• Canvas teared• Requires sewing or finishing on the edge

Liujingzi Jiang and Moa Jung Will McHaleDesign@Uarts Spring 2012 IDES 302 Studio 3: Project Studio

TRANSPORTATION PROTOTYPE 1

Make a textile with sisal rope and basic waving structure• Accessible material• Easy and quick to make (1 hour)• Waved too loose• Structure changes when put weight on it

Liujingzi Jiang and Moa Jung Will McHaleDesign@Uarts Spring 2012 IDES 302 Studio 3: Project Studio

TRANSPORTATION PROTOTYPE 2

Make tighter and bigger waving textile• Textile wrap back to store things• Stronger structure• Longer time needed• More materials needed• Too long and too heavy• Not easy to load

Folding shape

Liujingzi Jiang and Moa Jung Will McHaleDesign@Uarts Spring 2012 IDES 302 Studio 3: Project Studio

TRANSPORTATION PROTOTYPE 3

• Make the size close to the size of donkey’s back• Loops hanging down at the height of donkey’s rib

TRANSPORTATION PROTOTYPE 3

Liujingzi Jiang and Moa Jung Will McHaleDesign@Uarts Spring 2012 IDES 302 Studio 3: Project Studio

TRANSPORTATION PROBLEM SOLVING

• Less time to load • Basic material and tools are needed• Everyone is able to make one for their own donkey at home

• Simple tools for hanging or store goods and water• Avoid rope cut into donkey’s skin
