Music  festivals  are  a  way  to  raise  lots  of  money  and  awareness  about  certain  causes.  Festivals  are  great  for  the  population  near  the  festival  due  to  the  amount  of  people  coming  into  the  area  who  will  spend  money  in  that  areas’  economy.  Another  great  thing  about  music  festival  is  it  is  a  great  way  to  introduce  people  to  new  bands  and  music.

Bonnaroo donates a dollar for every ticket they sell to help with improvements to their land including things to help out the planet such as compost piles, solar panels, etc. Bonnaroo has also raised over 5 million dollars and donated to charities across the world.

In  2012’s  The  Outside  Lands  Music  and  Arts  Fest,  boosted  San  Francisco  economy  by  attendees  spending  a  reportedly  60.6  million  dollars.  The  Belfast  Music  fest  caused  all  hotels  in  the  area  to  be  booked  up.

Less popular bands are willing to play your festival for less money. Playing in a festival is more beneficial for them because they can reach a bigger audience. also the attendees get introduced to more bands. FFDP went from playing the side stage at Mayhem Fest to the next year playing on the Main Stage.

Music Festivals have a bad name because some of the bigger ones have ran in to some bad publicity. we as a whole need to help make festivals safer so we don’t have the bad publicity like at last years Bonnaroo a couple people died from the heat.
