    Quilt Block: Eight Pointed Star Barn Constructed in 1905 by Harry Weaver for dairy cows and horses. Jack & Mary's 6 year old grandaughter helped paint the barn quilt.

    M3 Brunson Farm 1871 Thorp Hwy South, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Evening Star/ Bear Paw Barn constructed in 1895 by John Burch with hand hewn timber. Brunson's have owned farm since 1912. Kathy Brunson is dedicated Barn Quilt volunteer!

    M4 Sweetwater Lavender Farm 1431 Killmore Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Barn Raising Barn constructed for equipment storage and drying lavendar. Three generations of quilters in the Sheryl's family. Lavendar farm open June- Sept. for lavendar cutting.

    M5 Riegal Farm 3571 Umptanum Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Corn & Beans The Barn was originally built around 1900 by Harry Prater for boarding work horses and hay storage. Now farmed by Kirk and Marie Riegal since 1985.

    M6 Wright Farm 921 Hanson Road, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Grandma's Flower Garden Barn constructed in 1910 by Hanson family for horse teams and cows on the lower level and hay storage above. Quilt block chosen from Grandma's quilts.

    M7 Skibeness Farm 2161 Strande Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Nordic Star Built in 1875 by Even Strande, this Texas style barn is the oldest standing barn in the lower county. Bruce & Jean are dedicated Barn Quilt Trail volunteers.

    M8 Boitano Farm 4996 Umptanum Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Harvest Star The Boitano's built this barn in 1988 in the style of old county barns. The Naches-Selah stage coach stop was located across the creek in the SE corner.

    M9 Gibson Farm 1221 S Thorp Hwy, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: American Independence Barn built a hundred years ago for milk cow's, hay storage and calf pens. Square nails, round pegs and a sheltered location have served this barn well.

    M10 Whitehurst Farm 3070 Umptanum Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: 2Algonquin Charm/Maltese Cross/Wild Geese/School

    This is the original Damman homestead dating to 1885. The Whitehurst's are the 3rd family to own this farm and sent their kids to the Damman school.

    This gambrel style barn, built in 1912 by the original homesteaders, the Pease family as a dairy barn. In 2007, the Schnases, converted it into a home.

    M12 Knudson Farm 3791 Brown Rd, E-burg

    Quilt Block: Civil War Star The barn was built in the early 1920's for hay storage and cattle. Today its primary function is a shop and sports a pretty Civil War era quilt block.

    M13 Old Fredrick Farm/Erickson Quilt 4311 Hanson Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Sunrise in the Pines Patti's Grandmother quilt won top prize at the Chicago's Worlds Fair. Wayne Erickson's Great-Grandfather came here in 1870 and homestead 160 acres.

    M14 Woody Farm 3380 Thorp Cemetary Rd

    Quilt Block: Here Comes the Sun This old barn was built in 1928 by the Goodwin family for livestock and hay storage. Merle and Murna chose this east facing barn quilt to greet the sun!

    M15 Gardinier Barn Manastash Rd & Brondt Rd

    Quilt Block: Amish Star Bob and Avadene Gardinier have farmed the land since 1941. The barn was originally built in the early 1900’s by the Brondt family for milking cows.

    M16 Carpenter Farm 2551 S. Thorp Hwy, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Wild Goose Chase Ruth has chosen a quilt block from from old dresses and aprons, made by her Grandmother who lived with her family from the 1930’s to 1952.

    M17 Scully Place 390 Riverbottom Loop Rd

    Quilt Block: Starry Path Sharon chose this quilt block to honor her Mother. The design is taken from one of her Mother's quilts. Do not drive down private road.

    M18 Yoder Farm 15730 Manastash Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Rose of Sharon The original homesteader’s cabin was built in 1911 - the age of the barn is not known. Jean Yoder's Grandmother made this quit when she was 18 years old.

    M19 Lazy F Ranch 16170 Manastash Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Cross & Crown of Thorns This facility, started as a a dude ranch in 1937, is now a Christian camp and retreat center. The old barn is a recreational facility. Info (509) 962-2780

    Quilt Block: Windmill & Acheson Brands

    The Acheson Ranch brands represented on this barn quilt date back to 1869. Acheson's raise cattle & hay.

    M21 Gerrits Farm 3451 Brondt Road, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Cluck Ol' Hen This old post and beam barn was built in 1902 by a man named Hicks who moved to the valley in 1892. Marian and her daughter painted the barn quilt.

    Quilt Block- Paper Rose This quilt block was a gift from Jenny's next door neighbor, her sister Sheryl! Jenny loves roses so this is a perfect barn quilt for their barn.

    M23 Thorp Grist Mill 11640 N Thorp Hwy, Thorp

    Quilt Block: Mill Stone From 1883 to 1946, the Thorp Grist Mill ground grain for the families of the valley. Water powered turbines ran the mill. Summer tours Thur-Sun 11-3.

    Quilt Block: Frances's Dream The farm was originally a dairy farm & dude ranch. The large hooped structure, built in 1998, is a riding arena for the Ceraolo's Paso Fino Horses.

    P3 Schwab Farm 481 Upper Peoh Point Rd

    Quilt Block: Compass Rose & Crops The original land on both sides was a potato farm during the 30’s and 40’ s. Dennis Schwab worked harvesting potatoes as a boy and moved back to retire.

    P4 Roseburg Farm 1021 Upper Peoh Point Rd

    Quilt Block: Eight Pointed Star John and Britta Roseburg settled in the Peoh Point area in 1888. The barn, built in the early 1900’s, still stands true. 4 generations of Roseburgs farmed here.

    Quilt Block: Flower Basket This old barn was built approximately 1937 by the Forsyth family. Heather is well known for her beautiful flower gardens, hence the 'Flower Basket' quilt.

    P6 Bierek Farm 3001 Upper Peoh Point Rd

    Quilt Block: Log Cabin with Brand This old barn was built before the 1900. The farm has been in the Bierek family since 1997. The barn is still used for hay storage and 'Sugar' the donkey.

    P7 Nelson Dairy Farm 1390 Nelson Dairy Rd, Roslyn

    Quilt Block: Starburst The farm was homesteaded in the early 1890's. The Nelson family built the barn and ran the first dairy in the Upper County until the 1940's.

    P8 Ritter Farm 20 Lund Ln. & W. Nelson Siding

    Quilt Block: Wedding Ring The farm has been in the Lund family since 1916. The barn was built in 1959 out of hand hewn Tamarack beams. It is now an event venue. (509)260-1016

    Quilt Block: Dalle Family Choice The Dalle family operated an Italian grocery, back room winery and dairy farm on this property. The quilt block was chosen in memory of Debbie Odiaga.

    Quilt Block: Sunflower The Vukonich family chose this quilt block to commemorate Mary Vukonich that grew sunflowers taller than her chicken coop!

    Quilt Block: Peony This property was originally part of the Joseph and Magalena Ziebiec's Farm until 1947. This quilt pattern chosen in memory of Magalena's peony gardens.

    Quilt Block: Grapes & Vine Collen Kelleher chose this quilt block to honor the Bogatay Family. Johana Bogatay and her sons lived here many years.

    P13 S. Cle Elum Historic Railyard 6th St & Milwaukee, S. Cle Elum

    Quilt Block: Railroad Crossing Doug and Mary Pittis, owners of Iron Horse B&B, display a barn quilt commemorating the S. Cle Elum Rail Yard National Historic District.

    P14 Hill/ Katalinich Farm Westside Rd & Gobbler's Knob

    Quilt Block: Turkey Track This little building was once Karen Hill's Grandparent's grocery store. 'Turkey Track' quilt block on the corner of Gobbler's Knob Rd. is a perfect choice.

    Quilt Block: Circle Play ‘Circle Play’ The quilt block was inspired by the quilting design book ‘Circle Play’ by Sandy's cousin, Reynola Pakusich, who has been featured in magazines.

    3190 Red Bridge Road, Cle ElumQuilt Block: Weathervane The barn was constructed in 1904 as part of the Teanaway Valley Farm. It is now used as a youth

    ranch with horseback riding and guest cabins.

    T2 Ballard Farm 901 Ballard Hill Rd. Cle Elum

    Quilt Block: Wagon Wheel The barn was built in 1900 by the original Ballard homesteaders. The diagonal bracing is very unusual in the valley. 6 generations of Ballards Farm.

    T3 Swauk Teanaway Grange 1361 Ballard Hill Rd, Cle Elum

    Quilt Block:School House/ Flying Geese

    The one room Ballard School was built in 1904 and deeded to the Swauk Teanaway Grange. It is a center of community activity in Upper County.

    T4 Masterson Farm 341 Masterson Rd, Cle Elum

    Quilt Block: Crazy Quilt/ Angus Bull The Masterson Ranch was settled in 1880 by James Masterson & his sons Harry & Howard (Bat). The barn once held 48 teams of draft horses.

    T5 Miller Farm 541 Seaton Rd, Cle Elum

    Quilt Block: The Defender by K. Watland

    Barn constructed pre-1923. Currently used for horses and hay storage. The quilt block was by local artist Karen Watland.

    T6 Horse Canyon Ranch 1751 Bettas Rd (off Hwy 97)

    Quilt Block: Star of Bethlehem The old barn and house were built in 1908 for horses and hay storage. Carol and Ralph Allmand are repairing buildings and history for an event venue.

    D1 Spirit Therapeutic Riding Center 1051 Sorenson Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Rail Fence The barn was built in 2009 by Spirit TRC as an indoor riding facility for disabled children as riding improves their strength, balance,flexibility, & confidence .

    D2 Old Graff Farm 3531 Denmark Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Snail's Trail (best viewed from North)

    In 1891, the Michels purchased 80+ acres here. Remaining land is owned by great-granddaughter, Betty Severin, dedicated Barn Quilt Volunteer.

    D3 Eslinger Farms 3530 S. Ferguson Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Matt's Choice This farm, dating to 1899, is being farmed by the sixth generation of Eslingers. The barn, built in 1921 for livestock and hay storage, is now used as a shop.

    D4 Ufkes Farm 361 Boston Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Rolling Star Straw Bale Barn was built in 2008 by volunteer labor. Stucco finish on the exterior and interior protects the hay bales from moisture.

    D5 Old Preece Farm (c.1909) 3460 Denmark Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Midnight Garden This house, built in 1916 by Joseph & Mary Preece, remained in the family for 98 years. The current owners have beautifully maintained all the buildings.

    D6 O.S. Johnson Farm 520 Clemans Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Missouri Star/Texas Star/ Star var.

    O.S. Johnson moved to Kittitas County pre-1920, purchased Sorenson farm shortly after and raised hay. In 1968, Jack Johnson purchased the farm.

    D7 McDonald Farm 1631 Sorenson Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Scottish Star Sherry has lived on her paternal grandparents farm property for over 60 years. The barn quilt reflects her Scottish heritage.

    D8 Jensen Farm 16141 Upper Badger Pocket Rd

    Quilt Block: Windblown Star The Jensen's own this 350 acre hay farm on the far end of the valley. Suzi thought quilt block 'Windblown Star' was very appropriate for our windy area.

    Quilt Block: Log Cabin The Sorensen Family has been farming in the Kittitas Valley since 1910. The barn was built in approximately 1900 with square nail fasterners.

    D10 Todd Farm 691 Bohannon Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Dresden Plate This quilt block is based on Rebecca's Grandmother's quilt. The property has been in the family since 1992. The barn is primarily used for horses and hay.

    D11 Ogilvie Farm 3280 4th Parallel Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Feathered Star This farm been in the Ogilvie family for 43 years. The brand, E over quarter circle was owned by Jim Engler & now includes Loretta & Loren Oglivie.

    D12 Harwell Place 560 Hamilton R, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: A Little Peace of Heaven The farmhouse and barn were built in 1910 but the barn burned down and the farm house was split off from the property. This was painted by RJ Johnston.

    D13 Reynolds Farm 481 Busch Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Feathered Star Variation Gary and Kristine built their barn in 2003 and hope this barn quilt will represent their binding love and be enjoyed by generations of Reynolds’ family.

    D14 Thrall Dodge Winery 111 Dodge Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Rusty Horseshoe The land upon which the cabin and winery was built was originally part of the Bob Pieters Cattle and Hay ranch. The tasting room is open on weekends .

    D15 Mitchell Ranch 290 Buffalo Lane, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Double Wedding Ring The block is a replica of Vada’s mother’s quilt made from her grandmother’s dresses. This ranch is the home of Rodeo City Equine Rescue.

    Quilt Block: Coxcomb and Currents This property is part of a 70 acres of the old Howard Place on Tjossem Road. The pattern is taken from a quilt made by great aunt in early 1900's.

    D17 Richardson Farm 550 Dodge Road, Ellensburg

    Quilt Blocks: Southwest Weavings Rush and his daughter designed the barn quilts based on Rush’s love for Southwestern art. His plans are to plant vineyards in the next few years.

    Quilt Block: Celtic Knot A Sorenson family since the late 1930's, Brian's Grandfather, John Sorenson, drained the wet fields and created some of the best land in the Kittitas Valley.

    Quilt Block: Quilt Star/Rail Fence Barn constructed in early 1900's for livestock and hay storage by the Stanfield family. Currently used for clubhouse for RV Park (open May thru October)

    Quilt Block: Double Windmill Constructed in 1910 by Leeland Bull. Curtis Bull, 4th generation, replaced roof, windows & doors. Curtis, BQ volunteer, hangs all the barn quilts!

    E3 Clymer Museum & Gallery 416 N Pearl St, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Grandma's Fan (view from 5th St.)

    Constructed in 1901 as a hardware store & wagon repair shope, the building is now an art gallery and museum dedicated to American artist John Clymer.

    E4 Kittitas Co. Historical Museum 114 E 3rd Ave, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Grandmother's Nine Patch

    The Cadwell Bldg was built in 1889 after the Ellensburg fire. Later housed Davis Furniture and in 1974 it was sold to the Kittitas Co. Historical Museum.

    Quilt Block: Desert Rose (view in alley)

    Originally the Farmer's Bank it was built in 1911 by architect FR Spangler, a local Ellensburg citizen. Constructed from Tenino sandstone.

    E6 Harmon Farm 708 S Willow St, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Diamond Star Quilt Block Herman & Katherine Dreyer built this old barn in 1932 for dairy cows and hay storage. Allen and Billie (Dreyer) Harmon have owned the farm since 1987.

    E7 Koch-Carpenter Farm 870 Game Farm Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Alison's Choice The barn was built in the 1960's. The farm sat empty until the Carpenter's purchased it. They raise grass-fed goats, Highland cattle and an organic garden.

    E8 Kittitas County 4-H Barns 512 N Poplar St, Ellensburg

    Log Cabin/ Carpenter's Wheel/ Windmill There are four large quilt blocks on the exhibit barns at the Kittitas County fairgrounds. They were painted by 4-H members. Barns built in 1916.

    E9 Glory Farm 4441 Dry Creek Rd, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Shoo Fly This beautiful barn was built in 1894 by Christen O. Eidal who came to the US from Norway at 23. Ellen's Grandmother's quilt inspired the barn quilt.

    The monitor style barn was built in 2004. Patty is a prolific applique' quilter. Her husband, David ordered this barn quilt for Patty's birthday.

    Quilt Block: Galaxy Star with 4 Point brand This barn was built in the early 1930's by the Rollinger brothers for cattle and hay. The old farm brand is referenced in the design. Do not use private road.

    E12 Wild Horse Wind Facility 25901 Vantage Hwy, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: American Star The wind and sun of Kittitas County are tremendous resources for producing energy. The building is based on the architecture of a traditional 6 sided barn.

    E13 Cadwallader Barn 3rd & N. Mt Stewart, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Pinwheel Linda designed the quilt block to represent the farmland which is made up of circles, squares, rectangles of crops with all the different color spectrums.

    The Browns have devoted a big part of their lives to soil and water conservation on their farm, within the Kittitas Valley & Washington state. Private Drive

    Quilt Block: Karen's Choice Karen and her grandaughter designed the quilt block for this barn built in 1951 by Mr. Jamison.

    E16 Longhorn Cattle Company 2331 Brick Mill Road, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Longhorn/ Flying Geese Akehurst’s have owned this property since 2006. They have a number of successful ranch-related activities and won 2013 Kittitas Cattlemen of the Year.

    E17 Urness Place 3050 Kittitas Hwy, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Jacob's Ladder There is a long history of quilters on both sides of Russ and Holly’s families. They are honoring that tradition in this particular choice of the ‘Jacob’s Ladder’.

    E18 McKean Place 18480 Reecer Creek Rd

    Quilt Block: Friendship Star This beautiful barn quilt was donated to the museum as a fund-raiser by the barn quilt volunteers. Kathy McKean won the bid and gave it to her son, Brian.

    E19 Four Seasons Farm 6250 Vantage Hwy,Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Harvest Wind Mill Bob and Darlene bought this property in 1979 and made major repairs to the barn to save it. The quilt block is based on an old family quilt.

    E20 Johnson Farm 9911 Vantage Hwy, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Celtic 8 Pointed Star The Darrell's have owned this cattle farm since 1994. It is now used as a hay distribution and supply company, as well as hay twine recyling.

    E21 Old Nelson Farm 8651 Vantage Hwy, Ellensburg

    Quilt Block: Spools Barb and Gene Nelson bought this farm in 1957 & pioneered the hay compressing technology for export. Barb is a committed Barn Quilt volunteer.

    Quilt Block: Courthouse Steps Original quilt brought from Independence, MO. over the Barlow Trail in 1860 by Doris’s Grandmother, a close friend of the ill-fated Whitman family.
