Hosting and Joining

There are two ways to host a duel; these methods are called IP and Hamachi.

IP

Hosting by IP is a way in which a person will directly to you through your internet connection. To do this, while in the Lobby, click the button below the Red Shaded Area called ‘Create Duel’. This will bring up the following screen:

To host the duel via IP, make sure the drop down box next to connection type is set to Direct IP and click OK. This will then set your Duel up and it will display in the red shaded box.

If you wish to make the Duel a private one, for example you want to duel a specific person, enter an optional password and click OK, ensuring the person you wish to duel has that password.

Hamachi

Hamachi is a program that can be used for people who have issues with hosting games via IP. It is an external program that can be found here. This guide will assume that you have already installed and assigned your Username on the Hamachi database.

To host on Hamachi you must create a network.

Users wishing to Duel with you MUST ALSO be in the same Hamachi network as you.

Do this by clicking the button highlighted in yellow in the picture below and clicking ‘Create a new Network...’

This will then display the following screen:

Enter your Network name and Password and then click ‘Create’.This will then display the network in your Hamachi window.

8

Page 9: KCVDS Userguide

Once your Hamachi network is up, you can then host a Duel on that Hamachi network. Do this by bringing up KCVDS while in the Lobby and clicking the ‘Create Duel’ button. This will then display the same screen as IP initially, this is where the procedure changes from then.

Instead of having the drop down set to Direct IP, this time set it to Hamachi. Also in the ‘Last Detected IP’ enter your Hamachi IP, this is the number found at the top of your Hamachi window, above your Username.

Select OK when all the options are set and your duel is ready.

Joining Duels

To join an already existing duel, click on an empty duel from the list of hosted duels in the red box then the host either accepts or denies your challenge.
