Research InterestsMy research focuses on the downstream impact of pregnancy loss (including stillbirth and infant death) on maternal mental, physical, and reproductive health.  Additional research focuses on perinatal mental health and mental health in primary care. I also investigate mental health in the perinatal period in Africa as well as stillbirth prevention in developing countries.  My work involves both primary data collection and analysis of secondary data sets and encompasses both qualitative and quantitative methods related to health services research. From 2013-16 I was an Anniversary Fellow at the Institute of Medicine (now National Academy of Medicine) and participated in activities of the IOM Board on Children, Youth and Families and the IOM Board on Global Health.
