APPLICATIONS
AAC is used as bare overhead conductor for power distribu-
tion lines. Due to its relatively poor strength to weight ratio,
AAC has limited application in Transmission Lines and rural
distribution because of the long spans utilized. AAC is also
extensively used in urban areas where spans are usually
short, but high conductivity is required. The excellent
corrosion resistance of aluminum has made AAC a conduc-
tor of choice in coastal areas.
SPECIFICATIONS
AAC for Low Voltage (LV) Distribution Lines are usually
manufactured according to IEC 1089. Sizes and stranding in
accordance with other specification as CSA C49, ASTM
B231, DIN 48201, BS 215, SFS 2410, NF or customer’s
specification can be manufactured by request.
CONSTRUCTION
This bare concentric-lay stranded conductor, made from
round electrolytic grade aluminum wires, is constructed with
a straight round central wire surrounded with one or more
layers of helically layed wires. These conductors are also
manufactured as compact conductors if required. These
conductors are formed by several wires of aluminium,
stranded in concentric layers. All the wires have the same
nominal diameter. Most common constructions consist of 7,
19, 37, 61 and 91 wires.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
This conductor is also known as aluminium stranded conduc-
tor. This conductor is manufactured from electrolytically
refined (E.C.GRADE) aluminium, having purity of minimum
99.7% of aluminium. This conductor is used mainly in urban
areas and the spacing is short and the supports are close. All
aluminium conductors are made up of one or more strands
of aluminium wire depending on the end usage. These
conductors are also used extensively in costal because it has
a very high degree of corrosion resistance. AAC All
Aluminum Conductors are used as bare overhead conductor
for primary and secondary power distribution lines are
usually manufactured cold-drawing (hard or annealed)
method from 1350-H19 aluminium rods.
APPLICATIONS
aluminium 1350-H19.

APPLICATIONS
On aerial circuit that require a larger mechanical resistance
than AAC, and a better corrosion resistance than the one
produced by the ACSR. The sag characteristics and the
strength to weight ratio is better than AAC/ACSR.
SPECIFICATIONS
ACSR Aluminum Conductors Steel Reinforced for High
Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) Transmission
Overhead Lines are usually manufactured according to ASTM
B232, BS 3242, DIN 48204, TS IEC 1089.
CONSTRUCTION
This bare concentric-lay-stranded conductor, made from
round aluminum alloy wires, is constructed with a central
core surrounded by one or more layers of round laid wires.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Aluminum Alloy Conductors have been available for over than
60 years, used as bare overhead conductor for power
transmission and distribution lines on aerial circuit that
require a larger mechanical resistance than AAC, and a better
corrosion resistance than the one produced by the ACSR.
AAAC have produced benefits with regards to both the cost of
installation and lifetime costs: Heat-treated AI-Mg-Si alloy
makes AAAC totally free from bimetallic corrosion and
exceptionally resistant to environmental corrosion. Service
life is around 60 years-twice as durable as ACSR. AAAC
stranded overhead conductors when subjected to static
tensile stresses for a long period of time. Have relatively
smaller increase in sag. AAAC when compared ACSR sizes
possess about 10% higher conductivity. In other words. For
equal temperature rise, AAAC can carry 10% extra current on
the line. Repair and replacing, dead ending is easier because
AAAC is monometallic. Ordinary fitting and accessories
without steel inserts can be used. Works out to be economi-
cal in the long run.
APPLICATIONS
AAAC a
longue.

APPLICATIONS
ACSR has the established reputation for economy and
dependability in power transmission lines. Also used for
primary and secondary distribution lines. Wide range of steel
content from 7% to 40% can be achieved by different strand-
ing, to meet desired strength. Electrical losses by corona
effect are greatly reduced, due to the larger diameter size of
this design. Economical transmission and distribution of
electrical energy can be achieved by ACSR, at very high
voltages and distances.
SPECIFICATIONS
ACSR Aluminum Conductors Steel Reinforced for High
Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) Transmission
Overhead Lines are usually manufactured according to
ASTM B232, BS 3242, DIN 48204, TS IEC 1089.
CONSTRUCTION
ACSR is a composite concentric-lay-stranded conductor.
Galvanized steel strand or strands form the central core of
the conductor, around which is stranded one or more layers
of EC Grade Aluminium wires. The steel core may consist of
a single strand or a concentric stranded cable of 7, 19, 37, or
more wires. Numerous combinations of aluminum and steel
strands and layers are possible.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
ACSR conductors are recognized for their record of economy,
dependability and favorable strength / weight ratio. ACSR
conductors combine the light weight and good conductivity
of aluminum with the high tensile strength and ruggedness of
steel. In line design, this can provide higher tensions, less
sag, and longer span lengths than obtainable with most other
types of overhead conductors. The steel strands are added
as mechanical reinforcements. The cross sections above
illustrate some common stranding. The steel core wires are
protected from corrosion by galvanizing.
APPLICATIONS

conductors stranded around the bare or insulated messenger
- Direction of lay: right handed Z
Core Identification
- By printing core numbers,
- By ridges;1, resp. 3 raised longitudinal ridges on the surface of the
cores.
- By embossed number
-The surface of the insulated neutral conductor smooth and
printed as below i.e: SAHRA KABLO NFA2X 3x95

Application
Aerial Bunch Cables are basically a compromise construction
between Power cables and Overhead conductors. It is
preferred to use of ABC cables instead of uninsulated conduc-
tors at low voltage networks. ABC cables are especially used
at areas where the cost of underground networks is
expensive and also for electrification of rural areas like
villages. Bundles can include one or two additional conduc-
tors for public lighting and control pair.
