The Scenario

• Over the past decade or so, many people have argued and debated on the topic – do vaccines cause autism?

• The debate gained more popularity in the 2000 Hanna Poling case when the girl child was given 5 vaccinations and later encountered troubles related to autism

• The vaccinations were against 9 diseases – measles, mumps, rubella, polio, varicella, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, and Haemophilus influenza, and were given to the child in a single day who was less than 2 years old at the time of receiving vaccinations

The Scenario

• In October 2002, Hanna Poling’s parents filed claim in federal court stating that the child developed health problems after receiving the vaccine shots

• Her parents informed the court that Hannah developed high fevers, averted eating food, didn't respond when somebody spoke to her, displayed signs of autism, and started to have screaming fits

• In March 2008, the Government settled the case and sealed the files without indicating whether vaccines are a cause of autism or not

Karen DeSoto’s Views

• In the MSNBC Talk Show, Karen DeSoto seeks answers as to why the Government closed the case and sealed it without clearing the findings

• Karen is of the opinion that the Government should clear the air about why Hannah Poling was paid millions for her vaccine induced autism and then sealed the case files, without sharing information or any facts on how vaccines can lead to autism
