History of The Hospital

The Karataş Hospital was

a renowned Jewish Hospital and the first private hospital in İzmir. It is one of the most popular and traditional medical centre in the Aegean region.

• The history of the hospital began in 1827, when the local Jewish Community built a small hospital to provide treatments during a cholera epidemic. The hospital has extended and changed hands many times since then.

Private Karataş Hospital

The Private Karataş Hospital commenced operations in April 2013 and continues to provide medical services, whilst preserving the historic atmosphere.

The redesigned modern hospital was built on the site of the old hospital has

• modern sick rooms,

• polyclinics,

• a 90 bed capacity,

• 4 different operations rooms,

• a newborn intensive care unit,

• and expert doctors.

The hospital also has 16 additional branches across

Turkey, which provides a wide range of medical treatments for
