•According to a survey, In India every 20 minute there is a women being raped in some part. Women safety has become one of the most questionable and imperative issues in India.

•Without women safety, women empowerment is far cry. However , nowadays government is very alert and supportive as regards women safety.

• Many schemes have been launched ensuring the safety of women but still mothers and sisters are unsafe in our so called spiritually rich and cultured society.

Introduction This is denting India’s image in every aspect which is

considered as the most unsafe place in the world for women. This effect can be seen in tourism as drastic fall in number of tourists incoming in India.

In order to check this effect on Indian economy, some suggestions are provided which, if implemented, can help Indian government to increase the safety of women and to empower women in India.

• Rules have been there but there is no proper practical implementation.

• Lack of awareness about laws and their rights.

• No family support.

• Surveillance camera’s are used against women privacy and safety.

• Lack of social support.

• Education :

Primary education

Higher education Adult education

1) self defense training must be mandatory for girls in all educational institutions.

2) Sex-education must be taught to all the students

1) Education as a community service:

one person has to teach a fixed number of students foe a fixed number of hours to get a certain degree. This will empower and educate more women with less man-power.

1) Women who are totally illiterate should be given practical knowledge:

• banking knowledge-how to operate their bank account.

• Financial knowledge-how to count and manage their money.

• About law-their rights and legal procedures one has to follow for a particular case.

• Primary practical health education

• Women empowerment in job sector:

Government should not terminate an employee when she has to stay on leave for from her job for some years. She should be allowed to start her job from where she left.

This will encourage:

1. Women empowerment

2. Less man-power training

3. Less requirement

of new recruitment policies.

Solutions/suggestions :

Work from home (WFH) employment:

Women who are unable to

work in offices can work

through wfh system.

This will help the

government to empower

and strengthen the

condition of women.

• Pension plans must be reviewed:

In the pension plans for widows or divorced women, government provides women an amount of 1500/- monthly; which is not even provided regularly. This amount must be increased to 2000/- at least.

• Advertisement:

Government must advertise the schemes and projects running for women empowerment and the mobile apps present for women safety. Most of women do not know about these facilities provided by government. Like:
