COLLECTING A FEE FOR TVS & MONITORS

• “User fee” is collected for TVs and monitors only,

both CRT and LED, all else is free to drop off.

• $25 (under 21" diagonally) or $35 (21" or over).

Contract Rider: incorporating minor changes to contract

• For the record, the Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Act (415 ILCS

150), is replaced by the Consumer Electronics Recycling Act (CERA - 415

ILCS 151), effective January 1, 2019.

• Current charges to residents for TVs and Monitors will not change at this

time and will remain as stated in the Contract. Coupons will no longer need

to be given in exchange for payment as the CERA allows for fees to be

charged for screened equipment.

• Accepted items to shift slightly

• Commitment to conduct 8 events and maintain 2 drop-off locations

MOU with RLGA: covering the bases

• all financial and weight based obligations fall under the agreement

between RGLA & eWorks. No cost to County.

Selling the program: creating a marketing and outreach plan

CHANGES IN 2019 DUE TO CERA

• Agreement with recyclers/collectors• They take the fees and process all money, issue receipts• They provide full time staff & office units

• Intergovernmental Agreements with Municipalities• They provide location, • electricity connection to office unit • forklift and staff time to load

• Security cameras are a good idea• Events staffed partially by eWorks staff, but also aided by

volunteers and by the Community restitution services team, service hours.
