The district is spread over an area of 3,652.00 square kilometres (1,410.05 sq mi) making it the

15th largest district in the state.[4]

Kamareddy is bounded by Nizamabad district on

North, Sircilla district and Siddipet district on East and South East respectively, it is bounded on

South by Sangareddy district and Medak district and on the West and South West by Nanded

district and Bidar district of Maharashtra and Karnataka states respectively.

NATURAL RESOURCES

FOREST:

The total Forest area in the District 82,190.48 Hectares farming 22.43 percent of the Total

Geographical Area of the District. The thick Forest belt produces Timber, Fuel, Bamboo and

Beedi Leaves, which yield good revenue. Custard Apples grow well in this District.

SOILS:

The important soils are Black Soils and Chalka ( Sandy Loamy ) and they constitute 52 Percent

and 48 Percent of Total Area of the District respectively. The erstwhile blocks of Madnoor and

Banswada are predominantly covered by Black Soils and other area of the district is covered

with Chalka Soils

MINERALS:

The district is not rich in minerals, Iron ore of poor quality occurs at a few places as laterite and

ferrogenous quartizites. Aluminous boles containing 24% to 35% alumina are reported from

Gurja Kunta of Bhiknoor Mandal and Karedpally in Tadwai Mandal. White calcareous

Kaolinised earth is found near Tippapur, Bhiknoor and Kupriyal. Granites of various quartzes

and Deccan trap rocks yield excellent material for buildings and roads.

RIVERS:

The Principal rivers flowing in the District is Manjira. The Manjira rises in Potoda taluk of Bidar

district in Karnataka State, enters the district from south west. The waters of Manjira are being

utilized for irrigation through the Nizamsagar dam constructed across the Manjira River near

Achampet (V) in Nizamsagar Mandal.

In addition to the above a Perennial Stream viz., Kowlas Nala Vagu is being flown from

Karnataka State enters the District in Jukkal Mandal. A Mini Project has been constructed across

the Vagu at Lingampali and Sawargaon villages of Jukkal Mandal and being irrigated some of

the villages of Jukkal and Bichkunda Mandals.

Kamareddy district is one of the agriculturally developed district in the Telangana state. Beedi

Rolling is a well known household industry and plays an important role to provide economic

activity among women. The sugarcane plantation is one of the major crops of this district. In

view of this Sugar factories like Indira Sugars and Gayathri Sugar factories are established. They

play an important role in the economy of the district of Kamareddy District.

PLACES OF HISTORICAL AND RELIGIOUS ATTRACTION.

KALABHAIRAVA TEMPLE:

It is situated in Issannapally village of Sadashivnager Mandal. The image of Bhairava is

characterized by elements of 23rd Thirthanker Parswanatha.

SIDHIRAMESHWARA TEMPLE:

One of the famous Shiva temples is located in Bhiknoor Mandal. An epic story is popular on

construction of this temple. Many pilgrims around South India visit this temple.

Sri Baswappa Lingappa Swamy Temple:

The famous Lord Sri Basawa Lingappa Swamy located in Bichkunda Mandal nearby

Maharashtra and Karnataka stated.

Forts:

Domakonda fort built by Rashtrakuta rulers around 10 AD. The fort was restored by Kamineni

Family in 1786 who ruled this region from here. Kowlas Fort in Kowlas village of Jukkal

mandal.

The District derived its name Kamareddy from the ruler of Domakonda Fort Chinna

Kamireddy, who ruled this area during AD 1600 to 1640. Old name of this place is KODURU.

This village exists in the place where Kishtamma Gudi now existing. In Harijanwada area there

was temple called KODURU HANMANDLA GUDI.

This temple is oldest in the History of Kamareddy. Apart from this temple there are another

( 3 ) Temples which are the proofs of Kamareddy i.e., 1.Kishtammagudi, 2. Venu Gopala Swamy

Gudi and 3. Vittaleshwara Alayam. In Kakathiya Dynasti this place was ruled by KAKARTHYA

GUNDANA, proof of this is available in Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple in Banda

Rameshwar Pally village of Machareddy Mandal.

The leaders of this district involved in the ―Quit India moment‖ launched by the Indian

National Congress under the leadership of Mahathma Gandhi along with the rest of Telangana.

The District is bifurcated from residual District of Nizamabad and formed as Kamareddy

District from 11-10-2016 with ( 3 ) Revenue Divisions viz., Kamareddy, Banswada and

Yellareddy and ( 22 ) Mandals including ( 1 ) Municipality i.e., Kamareddy. Rajampet, Bibipet,

Ramareddy, Peddakodapgal and Nasrullabad are formed as new mandals apart from existing ( 17

) Mandals.

Kamareddy district is partially industrially developed. There is scope for agro based

industries in the district as paddy, maize, turmeric, soya are the main crops. The Small Scale

industries and tiny industries that have come up in the district are mostly agro based.

AGRICULTURE

The District Economy is mostly dependent on agriculture sector. The increase in agriculture

production and productivity will boost the health of district economy.

The Department of Agriculture as one arm of the government has been established to perform

the following functions in the process of harmonizing the farming community.

Soybean production:

There is wider growth potential for production of certified seed production at farmer level

particularly in Gandhari, Tadwai, Rajampet, Bichkunda, Peddakodupgal, Madnur, Pitlam,

Sadashiva Nagar where the predominant soils are black which are highly suitable for Soybean

production. Hence there is a need to establish a Soybean Seed Processing unit at Gandhari /

Bichkunda and one Soybean Post Processing unit at Kamareddy which will give competitive

Market price to the farmers.

Pulses Production:

In Kamareddy and Bichkunda agriculture divisions, where the crops are grown mainly under rain

fed condition, is highly suitable for short duration crops like pulses and oilseeds. Here is great

potential for taking up pulses as well as Oilseeds like Groundnut and Sunflower production.

Maize production:

In Yellareddy and Kamareddy Agriculture divisions, Maize is a predominant rain fed crop with

low production/productivity levels. There is a great scope to increase the productivity with

available water resources under micro-irrigation (Drip).

State Seed Farm:

This farm is located in Malthummeda village of Nagareddypet Mandal, which is about 42 Kms

from District Headquarters. This Seed Farm is having a land of 324.22 Ha in Sy.No. 838 and 834

of Malthummeda Village. In which 24.28 Ha given to Horticulture Department. In the remaining

land of 299.94 Ha only 89 Ha has brought into cultivation with water source of Pocharam Project

canal through lift irrigation.

Boppaspally State Seed Farm:

This farm is located in Birkur Mandal, which is 70 Kms from District Headquarters. It is having

an area of 199.60 Ha with Cultivable area of 90 Ha. This farm is having irrigation source from

Nizamsagar Canal.

If these ( 2 ) Seed Farms develops to the total potentiality, the certified seed can be produced for

Paddy and Soybean Crops.

DAIRY DEVELOPMENT

Foundation stone laid to establish Milk Chilling Center at Someshwar Village of Banswada

Mandal on 13-10-2016. Converting Errapahad Milk Collection Centre of Tadwai Mandal as

Milk Chilling Center, where potentiality for Milk is very High.Bulk Milk Cooling Units may be

established at Jukkal, Mothe village of Lingampet Mandal, and Machareddy Mandal.

In the District headquarters TSDDCF Ltd Kamareddy Milk Chilling Centre is available. This

Dairy capacity is 20,000 Ltrs per day. There are 10 Bulk Milk Cooling Units under this dairy. As

on to-day 35,000 Ltrs of Milk is procuring per day from 99 Milk Collection Centres in the

District. 7354 Milk Producers are benefitting from Milk Production.

The District derived its name as Nizamabad (Nizam-a-abadi) from the Nizam of Hyderabad

Asaf jahi, VI who had ruled Deccan during the 18th century A.D. Originally the District was

called Indur known to have originated in the name of king Indradatta who had ruled this region

during the 5th century A.D.

Some of the major ancient dynasties which extended their rule to the district are Mauryas,

Satavahanas, Rastrakutas, Chalukyas and Kakatiyas and in the medieval Bahamani Sultans,

Qutub Shahis and Barid Shahis and in the modern period Mughals and Asaf Jahis.

During the Prime Minister-ship of Sir Salar Jung-I in the 1876 A.D., the districts in the

Nizam’s Dominion were re- organized where upon Indur became a District.

The district in its new shape was christened as Nizamabad. Before 1979, there were (7) taluks in

the district. However, during December, 1979 Armoor and Kamareddy taluks have been

bifurcated and (2) new taluks Viz, Bheemgal and Domakonda were formed. With these two

taluks, the number of taluks rose from 7 to 9.

On 11.10.2016 New District is formed with 27 mandals.there are I corporation two

municipalities in the district.recently 8 new Mandal are formed they are

Mupkal,Mendora,Yergatla, Nizamabad North, Nizamabad Rural , Nizamabad South

Mugpal,Rudrur.

Nizamabad town has the largest population of 3.10 lakhs as per 2011 Census.

While Armoor town has the lowest population of 64,042. Nizamabad town has become

Municipal Corporation in March, 2005 and Armoor town has become Municipality in May 2006.

revenue. Mangoes and Custard Apples grow well in this district.

Manjira, the chief tributary of the Godavari. The Godavari originates in the Western Ghats at

Triambak near Nasik in Maharashtra State. It flows for about 113 Kms., on the northern

boundary of this district separating it from Nanded and Nirmal districts and finally enters into

Jagital district. The Manjira rises in Potoda taluk of Bhidar district in Karnataka State, enters the

district from south west and joins the Godavari near Kandakurthi in Renjal Mandal. .

PLACES OF HISTORICAL AND RELIGIOUS ATTRACTION:

LIMBADRI GUTTA-

There is Lord Sri Narasimha Swamy Temple on Limbadri Hills situated in Bheemgal Mandal.

QUILLA RAMALAYAM-

This Quilla (fort) was built by the kings of Rashtrakuta dynasty during 10th century. While the

Kalyani chalukyas added Hindu elements to the temple. The Kakatiya rulers restored this.

NEELAKANTESHWARA TEMPLE

This temple built in Nizamabad around 10 AD by Satavahana king, Satakarni – II, with

architecture style of Jains, Vaishnavaite and Shivaite.

SRI CHAKRESHWARA TEMPLE

It is built by Kalyani Chalukyas , famous Shiva temple, situated in Bodhan town.

HANMAN TEMPLE

Located in Sarangapur village and it is said that saint Samartha Ramdas, the Guru of king

Chatrapathi shivaji has laid the foundation to the temple about 450 years ago.

Ashta Mukhi Koneru

Narsimha Swamy temple was built around 9th century by the Chalukyas, Ashta Mukhi koneru

was also built subsequently which is a stone carved pillar and platform structure is giving a very

good appearance.

FORTS

Sirnapally fort built in 19th century under seelam Janakibai who was appointed as its ruler by the

Nawab of Nizam.Sadulla Hussain Dargah –Badapahad. It is most important pilgrim centre in the

district located in Jakora Village of Varni Mandal.

CSI church

The churches built at the beginning of 20th century, in Dichpalli and Dharmaram mandals are

among the most important in the district.

PLACES OF TOURIST IMPORTANCE

There are many places of tourist importance in the district. Prominent among them are Sriram

Sagar, , Alisagar and Nizamabad fort. Apart from these, there are places of religious prominence

like Limbadri Narsimhaswamy Temple, Peddagutta etc.

SRIRAM SAGAR PROJECT (SRSP)

This is one of the biggest projects in Telangana , which was constructed across the River

Godavari at pochampad village of Mupkal Mandal. Former Prime Minister of India late Sri

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, laid the foundation in July, 1963. The project provides irrigation water

for about 3.92 lakhs Hectares in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagital, Warangal and Khamam districts.

Also provides drinking water to Jagital and Warangal districts. The project site is an important

tourist spot. The APGENCO Power Generation House, Lord Rama & Shiva Temples located

there are worth seeing.

ALISAGAR RESERVIOR

This reservoir is situated at a distance of 13Kms from Nizamabad town, which is an important

picnic spot to Nizamabad public. This huge reservoir was constructed in 1931 by the Nizam.

Flanked by natural hills and beautiful flower gardens, the reservoir and its surroundings are rich

in scenic beauty. Boating facility also available to the visitors.

ASOK SAGAR

This Sagar is situated at a distance of 8 Kms from the District Head Quarters towards the Bodhan

town. Recently, a Picnic Spot has been developed which attract visitors from Nizamabad, where

Boating facility is also provided. A 18 ft statue of Goddess Saraswathi in the middle of the lake

attracts the visitors a lot.

KANDAKURTHI, TADPAKAL AND POCHAMPAD

These are the three places recently identified for ―GODAVARI PUSHKARALU’ and developed

by constructing ―Snanaghattalu‖ as well as bath rooms and shelters for the visitors. The District

Administration is taking steps to develop these places as Picnic Spots.

Soil testing laboratory is headed by an Asst Director of Agriculture (STL) and supported by 3

Agriculture officers.

Biological Control Lab:

Biological control lab was established in Nizamabad district with an objective to produce bio

agents like Trichoderma viridae, Pseudomonas for distribution under various departmental

schemes on subsidy. These biological agents are promoted as alternate to the chemical

insecticides and fungicides.

This Laboratory is headed by an Asst Director of Agriculture assisted by an Agriculture officer.

Farmers Training Center (FTC):

Farmers Training Center is involved in training of farmers in various aspects of agriculture

including skill development of agricultural labour, transfer of latest technology to the farmers

and organizing field visits and exposure visits. Farmers training center also conducts orientation

training to the department officers on the schemes, their guidelines and extension techniques in

implementation of the schemes.

Farmers Training Center is headed by a Deputy Director of Agriculture (FTC) supported by two

Asst Directors of Agriculture and two Agriculture officers.

Input Supplying Services

Agriculture Department assesses the requirement of inputs like seed, Fertilizer, insecticides,

credit requirements and makes necessary arrangements for supply of inputs. Farm implements

are also supplied under Farm mechanization scheme.

Quality Control Sevices

Agriculture officers and above cadre officers are notified as Seed, Fertilizer and Insecticides

inspectors as per the different G.Os and they perform the duties of Seed, Fertilizer and

insecticides inspectors. The main functions are periodic inspections of the input outlets and

implementation of the different provisions of the statutes.

Extension Services

i. Agriculture department organizes demonstration of improved technologies, conducts

Trainings to improve crop production and to reduce cost of cultivation.

ii. Making extensive field visits and ensure production of the crop as per the recommended package

of practices.

iii. Diagnosing the pest and disease and suggest remedial measures which include forecast of

outbreak of pest and disease on various crops.

iv. Based on the Government policies and existing market situations and seasonal conditions

advisories are provided to the farmers on what type of crops to be cultivated.

Seed Distribution on Subsidy

Objective:

Seed, a critical determinant in increasing agriculture production and supply of quality seed is an

important intervention to increase production and productivity of any crop.

Seed Village Program

Objective:

To ensure timely supply of quality certified seed of notified varieties to the farmers at affordable

prices besides ensuring quick multiplication of new seed varieties in a shorter time based on crop

situation.

Fertilizers

Department of Agriculture monitors the supply of Inorganic fertilizers like Urea, Complex

fertilizers and MOP supplied by the Fertilizer manufacturing / importing companies. Movement

of fertilizer is done after the approval of the District Level Committee on Monitoring of

Fertilizer movement headed by the District Collector and consisting of District Manager, District

Agriculture officer, MARKFED (nodal agency for maintaining Fertilizer buffer stock), District

Co-operative officer.

Farm Mechanization

Objective: To improve efficiency of farmers by way of farm mechanization, thus, rising

productivity level/net income per hectare, reducing cost of cultivation and improving product

quality through use of post harvest machinery/processing methods.

Credit (Crop Loans)

Objective:

To provide timely agriculture credit to farmers at lesser interest rate.

Vaddileni Runalu and Pavala Vaddi-

Objective: To provide interest free crop loans to farmers upto Rs. 1.00 Lakh and pavala vaddi to

farmers who have availed crop loan from Rs. 1.00 Lakh to Rs. 3.00 Lakhs, repaid in due date.

Crop Insurance – Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana(PMFBY)

Objectives:

i. To provide insurance coverage and financial support to the farmers in the event of failure

of any of the notified crop as a result of natural calamities, pest and diseases.

Quality Control Of Inputs-Seed, Fertilizers and Pesticides.

Objective:

To ensure the availability of quality seed, fertilizer and pesticide to the farmers by enforcing the

laws. Agriculture officer is notified as Seed Inspector, Fertilizer inspector and Insecticide

Inspector for his jurisdiction for enforcing the provisions of Seed Act 1966, Fertilizer Control

Order 1985 and Insecticides Act 1968.

National Food Security Mission(NFSM)

Objective:

To increase production of pulses and coarse cereals through area expansion and productivity

enhancement in a sustainable manner.

National Mission On Oil Seeds and Oil Palm(NMOOP)

Objective:

To increase production of vegetable oils sourced from oil seeds through area expansion and

productivity enhancement in a sustainable manner.

The Components under this scheme include Water saving devices like Sprinkler and drip

irrigation systems, supply of Gypsum, Micro nutrients, Plant protection chemicals, Weedicides

etc under subsidy.

Rainfed Area Development Program(RAD)

Objective:

To provide agriculture based income generating opportunities and sustaining the rainfed

agriculture through optimum utilization of natural resources and resources created through

various interventions.

Paramparagath Krishi Vikas Yojana(PKVY):

Objective:

To achieve sustainable and eco-friendly model of chemical residue free agricultural production

by promoting organic farming.

Objective:

Natural Calamities

Objective:

To provide immediate relief to the affected farmers whose crops are damaged >33%, due to any

natural calamity and prepare of contingency plan for alternate crop under adverse seasonal

conditions.

Mandal level team consisting of Tahsildar and Agriculture officer prepares the farmer wise,

survey number wise, Crop wise crop damages occurred due to natural calamity and submit

proposals for release of input subsidy to the Government. The amount released as input subsidy

is distributed to the affected farmers through online transfer to the bank accounts of the farmers.

Dairy Development

TSDDCF

Nizamabad Dairy was established at Sarangapur,Nizamabad during 1970.The total milk

production of the district is 2.55 LLPD, where as 1.23 LLPD goes for local consumption and

there is marketable surplus of 1.32 LLPD; certain private dairies and product manufacturers are

procuring up to 1.07 LLPD ; the TSDDCF is procuring around 0.25 LLPD. On reorganization of

the State, the dairy activities are being taken up under Nizamabad-Adilabad Milk Shed.

So far, there are 15 registered Milk Producers Cooperative Societies and registration under 1964

TSCS Act is in progress for remaining 126 milk collection centers. At present, milk purchase

price is being paid basing an the quality of milk from Rs.27/- lit to 56/- lit include Cow and

Buffallow milk in addition to this Rs.4/-per lit is being paid by the Govt.of Telangana

Cash Incentive of Telangana Government to Vijaya milk producers:

The Govt., of Telangana State, is giving cash incentive of Rs:4/- per ltr to its Milk Producers

w.e.f., November,2014. So far, Rs. 14.5 Crores has been passed on to 3902 milk producers on

DBT mode in the milk shed.

Vijaya Pasteurized Double Toned Milk Supply To ICDS Projects

In entire Nizamabad District, VIJAYA Double Toned milk is being supplied to 2500 Anganwadi

centers covering total 05 ICDS Projects, under Arogya Laxmi program. The total Milk quantity

is around 5500.0 liters per day is supplying to Anganwadi centers

Department Activities:

i. The Ration Balancing Program is in progress in the District, for integrated dairy

development.(to achieve milk yield more with balance feed)

ii. Vijaya Milk Parlors have been established at Nizamabad and Bodhan for sale of Vijaya Milk and

Milk products. Further, dairy parlors are planned to start at Basar,Armoor.

iii. One New BMCU of 3000 lit. Capacity will be started shortly at TallaRampur,Yergatla mandal,

Nizamabad district.

iv. Calf Rearing Program is in progress on pilot basis.

Department Schemes:

i. IDDP Scheme: Established of New BMCUs and Purchase of Testing Equipments to open

new milk collection centers.

ii. CM’s Package: Establishment of new BMCU’s at Mandal level.

iii. NPDD Scheme: Development of Fodder seed and to give awareness about Cleaning milk

The main objectives of the Scheduled Caste Development Department are Educational

advancement, Socio- Economic development, welfare and protection of Scheduled Castes and

implementation of Schemes for Social Security of SC’s such as Kalyana Laxmi, Free Power to

In Nizamabad District (32) SC Hostels (25) Boys and (07) Girls Hostels are functioning in

Government buildings with (2554) admitted strength. Every year the following materials were

supplied to the boarders of Pre-Matric Hostels.

iii. Plates , Glasses & Katora.

iv. Bed sheet, Carpet. etc.,

ii. POST MATRIC SC College Hostels :

(10) College Hostels (6 for Girls and 4 for Boys) are functioning in the District. To cater needs

iii. SCHOLAR SHIPS:

. Pre Matric Scholarships(New Scheme):

Pre-Matric Scholarship for students belonging to SC Studying Class V to VIII in Govt. Schools

/Aided Schools to curb the high drop out rate among SC Children. The Income of Parent/

Guardions should not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakhs per annum. The Scholarship will be payable for 10

Months in an academic year @ Rs. 100/- P.M. for Boys & Rs. 150/- P.M. for Girls, The Students

under this scheme shall apply through Online.

i. Pre Matric Scholarship (Rajiv Vidya Deewena) :

As per G.O. Ms. No. 47 SW (Edn.2) Dept., Dated : 31-12-2012. Govt. have introduced the

―Rajiv Vidya Deewena‖ Scheme under which Pre-Matric Scholarship for Class IX & X to all

eligible SC Students pursuing studies in Govt. Scholars/ Aided Schools are granted. The Income

of the Parent/ Guardians should not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakhs per annum. The Scholarship will be

payable for 10 Months in an Academic Year @ Rs. 150/- Per month and Book Money Rs. 750/-

per Annum. The Students under this scheme shall apply through Online.

iv. Post Matric Scholar Ships :

Post Matric Scholarships are being sanctioned to the SC Students at all levels of Education after

X Class. These Scholarships amount include maintenance charges of the student (MTF) and all

Non- refundable fees payable to the institutions (RTF) concerned as per the various rates

prescribed by the Govt. from time to time.

v. .AMBEDKAR OVERSEAS VIDYA NIDHI :-

The Govt. have introduced the Scheme of Financial Assistance to SC Graduate students for

persuing PG and Higher studies abroad with a view to enable the benefit of higher education in

foreign Universities to meritorious SC Students there by providing them an opportunity for better

career prospects. Rs. 20.00 lakhs financial assistance is being sanctioning. The income ceiling is

Rs. 5.00 lakhs. The eligible students can persue their studies in (10) countries.

vi. Best Available School Scheme (BASS):

The Objective of the Scheme is to provide quality Education to SC Students by enabling them to

join in reputed Best Available Schools from Classes I and X.

The Government extended the Best Avaialble Scheme for Day Scholars for all eligible SC

Students from the Academic Year 2014-15 for sanction of Scholarships under the New Scheme

Best Available Schools ( Non – Residential Scheme).

. Under this Scheme an amount of Rs. 30,000/- Per Annum is to be sanctioned to

each student under Residential

i. Rs. 17000/- Per Annum to Urban area schools and Rs. 15,000/- per Annum to

rural area schools is to be sanctioned to each student under Non- Residential (Day Scholars).

vii. Inter Caste Marriage:

Under this scheme an amount of Rs.50,000/- has been sanctioning to the inter caste married

couples, one of the spouse must be SC community.

viii. Admission of Students into Corporate Colleges:

The Meritorious students who got highest marks in SSC Public Examination were admitted into

corporate colleges.Under this scheme an amount of Rs. 35,000/- towards Scholarship and Rs.

3,000/- towards maintenance charges has to be sanctioned to each student.

ix. STUDY CIRCLE:

During the year 2016-17 Government have sanctioned study circle to this district. During the 1st

batch (71) students were selected for coaching for Group-I, II, Banking, Railway etc., and in IInd

batch (79) students were taken coaching for recruitment of Teachers in GURUKULAMS.

IIIrd Batch six months foundation coaching classes were started to various competitive exams

from 03.10.2017 for (52) students were selected and coaching classes are being conducting to the

students regularly.

x. Community Halls :

The Community Halls / Ambedkar Bhavans will be sanctioned by the Govt. to each Village,

Mandal , Municipalities/ Revenue Divisions/ District Head Quarters for use of SC’s in order to

facilitate them to perform Marriages and to ongoing their meetings and Social gathering.

xi. Payment of Electricity bills of SC House holds Consuming 0-50 Units per month:

The Government has noticed that many SC Families living in housing colonies consuming less

than 50 Units of power per month are not in a position to pay their earlier dues.As per G.O. Ms.

No. 58 SW (SCP-I) Dept., Date : 2-7-2013 Govt. have issued orders for payment of Electricity

monthly bills and arrears of SC house holds in housing Colonies.

xii. Book Banks:

Under this Scheme Books are provided to professional course like

The cost ceiling per set is Rs. 7500/- for Degree courses in Medical / Engineering Rs. 5000/- for

Degree courses in veterinary Rs. 4500/- for Degree courses in Agriculture and Rs. 5000/- for

professional course at PG Level.

xiii. Financial Assistance to SC Advocates:

Financial Aid to be provided to SC Law graduates who selected under this scheme for

undergoing traiming and seeking employment else-when after the training. The duration of the

training period is 3 years. The selected candidates are attached to the Law officers with in the

district like Govt. pleader, Public Prosecutors, Asst. Public Prosecutors of District courts. At

present (3) Advocates are undergoing training in this district. The selected candidates are paid

stipend @Rs. 1000/- P.M. for three years, reimbursement of enrolment fee @ Rs. 585/- each and

Rs. 6,000/- towards Law books one time.

xiv. SC Special Development Fund :

The Scheduled caste and Tribal special development funds are designed for channelizing the

flow of outlays and benefits for the development of SC’s &ST’s in proportion to their population

with an objective to bridge the gaps in development indication between the general population

and SC’s & ST’s. The SCDD Department is nominated as Nodal Department to coordinate and

monitor the implementation of various schemes by the Govt. for the integrated development of

the SC’s.

xv. Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam :

The Government of Telangana has introduced the scheme of kalyana lakshmi pathakam to all SC

Girls on their marriage with a view to alleviate financial distress in the family. Under the scheme

an amount of Rs. 75,116/- being same sanctioned at present and now the said amount has been

enhanced up to Rs. 1,00,116/- w.e.f. 1.4.2018 onwards.

Education

The School Education Department is the largest department consisting of Primary and

Secondary stages, assumes greater significance and aims at imparting minimum and essential

general education to all the children in the age group of 6-15 years and to equip them with

necessary competencies to shape them as useful and productive citizens. Andhra Pradesh has

adopted the national pattern of education i.e. 10+2+3. Out of 10 years of schooling, the first 5

years i.e. Classes I to V constitute the Primary stage, the next two years i.e., Class VI & VII the

Upper Primary stage and the remaining 3 years i.e., Classes VIII to X, the Secondary stage.

Concerted efforts are made in all the schools in the State with a well-knitted field functionaries

monitoring system to take the Education to the nearest place of residence of the school going

aged children, even in remote, tribal and hillock areas. Andhra Pradesh has attained 100% access

by providing at-least One Primary School with in the reach of one kilo meter. Today any child in

any part of Andhra Pradesh can access a school with in one kilometer radius. The Government of

Andhra Pradesh in the School Education Department is committed to providing quality education

from Class I to X for all the school going age children in the State, including general and

linguistic minorities, and other disadvantaged-groups.

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas

Introduction:-

What is KGBV :

Government of India have taken the initiation of ―Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya‖ for setting

up of 36 Residential schools in the Nizamabad with boarding facilities at elementary level for

girls belonging predominantly to SC, ST OBC and Minorities in difficult areas. The scheme will

be coordinated with the existing schemes of Department of Elementary Education and Literacy

namely Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), National Programme for Education of Girls at

Elementary Level (NPEGEL) and Mahila Samakya (MS).

Objectives :

To ensure access and quality education to the girls of disadvantaged groups of society by setting

up Residential schools with boarding facilities at elementary level.

Scope and coverage of the scheme :

i. The norms for the programme is to identify educationally backward blocks as per census

data of 2011 i.e., less than 46.58% Female Literacy Rate and Gender gap more than 21.7%

ii. Government of Andhra Pradesh has sanctioned 36 KGBV Residential Schools in Nizamabad

District.

Ground Water

About Department:

The groundwater department is a multi disciplinary organization engaged in development and

management of groundwater resources in the State. The department has been declared as the

nodal agency for all ground water related activities in the State. The department is a part of

Irrigation and Command Area Development (I&CAD) department and headed by Director, The

District office is headed by District Ground Water Officer( Deputy Director Cadre).

The activities include Conduct of hydro-geological, hydrological, geophysical

investigations for Ground water Development, Monitoring, Protection and regulation.

Horticulture

Horticulture has been identified as one of the‖focus sectors‖ for development of the state.

Horticulture crops provide better alternative for diversification of Agriculture in view of high

returns. The soil and climatic conditions of the Telangana state are mostly favourable for the

cultivation of Horticulture crops.

Horticulture sector, commands a large employment potential by way of supporting a series of

direct and indirect activities related to area development, nurseries, cultivation and farming, crop

maintenance, products, post-harvest management, trading, storage, processing & marketing.

Horticulture crops play a unique role in state economy by improving income of the rural people.

A large number of concessions; assistance and incentives are being provided to the growers,

processors by the state and central Governments.

program was initiated on 1st May 1978 as a centrally sponsored scheme. It was a landmark

measure in development of cottage and small industries in smaller towns in India. DIC’s were

started with a view to provide integrated administrative framework at the district level for

industrial promotion. It is aimed at providing all assistance and support to entrepreneurs in

various states. These centres are responsible for effective promotion of cottage and small scale

Industries at district level. These centres also to provide support facilities, concessions and

services to develop tiny, cottage and small scale units.

The activities are includingvarious clearances, permissions, approvals etc from various

departments on single window basis through TSiPASS portal, Granting of incentives for various

activites, Implementation of PMEGP scheme, conducting of entrepreneur development program,

conducting of awareness campaign, Allotment of Raw material, Rehabilitation of sick units,

marketing assistance & Advices the entrepreneurs on investments.

Scheme Details:

i. ATS-iPASS(TELANGANA STATE INDUSTRIAL PROJECT APPROVAL AND

SELF CERTIFICATION SYSTEM)

The Telangana Government has enacted the ―Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and

Self-Certification System (TS-iPASS) Act, 2014‖ (Act No.3 of 2014) for speedy processing of

applications for issue of various clearances required for setting up of industries at a single point

based on the self-certificate provided by the entrepreneur and also to create investor friendly

environment in the State of Telangana. The Govt. of Telangana is facilitating entrepreneurs in

getting all proposals for establishing an industry through TS-iPASS which is made online. The

website is as follows https://ipass.telangana.gov.in. The applications will directly route to

concerned departments through online and the clearance will also be issue online.

ii. B.T-IDEA & T-PRIDE:

To promote Telangana State as the best investment destination for investors in India, the State

Government has offered various incentives/benefits to all eligible new industrial enterprises set

up in the State under T-IDEA (Telangana State Industrial Development and Entrepreneur

Advancement) for general.

iii. T-PRIDE:

The State Government is offering various incentives/benefits to all new Industrial enterprises set

up by Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and physical challenged entrepreneurs in the State

under the T-PRIDE (Telangana State Program for Rapid Incubation of Dalit Entrepreneurs).

iv. PMEGP:

Government of India has approved the introduction of a new credit linked subsidy programme

called Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) for generation of

employment opportunities through establishment of micro enterprises in rural as well as urban

areas.

PMEGP will be a central sector scheme to be administered by the Ministry of Micro, Small

and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME), which will be implemented by KVIC through 3 agencies

viz; DIC, TSKVIB, KVIC and financial assistance provided by various banks.

Progress report fro the 2017-18 F.Y:

TSiPASS:

For the 2017-18 financial year, (99) units have been applied for (217) approvals. In which (163)

have been approved. (38) Are rejected.

Incentives:

For the 2017-18 financial year, 138 units have been sanctioned for incentives with Rs.

2,90,46,516/-.

PMEGP:

Under this scheme, 35 units have been sanctioned by various banks with margin money of

Rs.1,26,21,000/-

TOURISM

The main object of the Department is to promote tourism destinations by providing all

necessary amenities and to develop tourism places in all Spheres to increase the visitors /

tourists.The distance from state capital Hyderabad to Nizamabad is 170 k.m. by bus and the

distance by train is 160 K.m. There are number of buses from MGBS, Hyderabad and JBS

Secunderabad to Nizamabad on the same time number of trains also available from

Secunderabad and Kachiguda railway station.

Department Activities:

The Activities of the department is to promote the tourism destinations by providing necessary

aminities Two Guides are working in the district to guide the tourist/Devotees at Navanath

Temple, Siddula Gutta, Dichpally Ramalayam. Ali Sagar garden and boating has been leased out

to Sri.Chaithanya yuvajana Sangam, Thanakalan and Ashok Sagar has been rented to Bhagath

Singh yuvajana Sangam, Janakampet.

The Dichpally Ramalayam located at a distance of 20 k.m. from Nizamabad enroute Hyderabad.

The temple was built in the 14th century by Kakatiya Kings, the Dichpally Ramalayam is the one

of the oldest temple in the Nizamabad. Temple was built of black and white basalt stone, with

the finest architecture and excellent craftsmanship of goddesses, animals, devils and Khajuraho

style erotic structures on it. This ancient temple has awesome sculpture with extremely beautiful

carvings on temple walls, ceilings, pillars, and door frames.

This temple has 105 steps and a pedestrian subway connecting it to Raghunadha Temple in the

Nizamabad urban center.The temple is visited by thousands of devotees on the festival Sri Rama

Navami.. The Dichpally Ramalayam is one of the finest example of stone architecture, built in

white and black Basalt stone. The entrance to the steps is grased by a decorative gateway ―

Keerthi Thorana‖ which is reachly engraved and bearing the Kakatitya style of architecture. The

Surrounds area of the temple fills with water every year during the monsoons and the temple

assumes the look of an island.

Raghuanatha Temple:

Nizamabad fort, also known as Nizamabad of quilla, was built in tenth century by Rashtrakuta

Kings situated at south west of Nizamabad city. The fort has a large area surrounded by Masonry

walls and huge bastions resembling Muslim architecture.Raghunatha temple is on the top of the

fort and is a major tourist attraction. Believed to have been built by Chatrapathi Shivaji. The

temple temple has spacious halls spread over an area of 3900 square fees with unique system of

ventilation that keeps it cool in summer in particular.

There is a prison within this fort premises where ―Dasharathi Krishnamacharyalu‖ a legendary

poet and writer spent his life during initial year of independence. The time he spent in this jail

was well utilized in writing poetry. His famous quote ―Naa Telangana Koti Rathanala Veena‖

has been and is being used right from the initial periods of Telangana oribation till date.

Siddulagutta – Armoor :

Sri Navanatha Siddeshwara temple is located in Armoor town about 27 K.m. Northeast at

Nizamabad district. There are beautiful rock formation around this temple with extends up to 2

K.m. legend says that, on this hillock and hence it is called as Navanathapura.

There are many temples on the hillock namely Shivalayam, Ramalayam, Hanuma Temple,

Durga Devi Temple and all these temples are believed to be Swayambhu Temples.Inside these

caves is a Shiva Temple, where the Shiva Lingam is said to be swaymbhu or self-manifested.The

entrance to this cave temple is a door that is barely three feet.Just outside the exit point of this

narrow cave is a Ramalayam and the temple tank, Jeeva Koneru.Fifteen years ago a ghat road

was built through the rock formation, leading straight to Siddulagutta. There is also a walkway

from the Gol Bungalow for pilgrims wishing to do the climb up to the temple by foot.

Bada pahad:

Badapahad Dargah or Peddagutta is a Muslim Pilgrim Centers. Built in the memory of the Saint

Hazrat Syed Sadullah Hussain, the mosque is situated atop a hillock near Jakora in the Varni

Mandal of Nizamabad district. Many Muslim devotees as well as Hindu devotees climb hill and

visit Saint Sadullah Hussain Baba.The three annual festival of Ursu at Badapahad is held every

year in September month. Telangana, Andhrapradesh, Maharashtra and Karnatak people attend

this occasion and festival in every year.Dargah is located between the hills of Chandur and

Varni,the Bada Pahad Dargah site is also used as a huge ropeway project. The ropeway will also

be used as a mode of transport to access the mosque. There are around 1000 steps to reach the

summit of the hill where Dargah is located.

Bada Pahad Dargah is Located in Bada pahad village, about 15 k.m from varni and 43 k.m from

Nizamabad. Situated on the huge hill (Bada Pahad), this prominent Dargah is visited by scores of

devotees every year from the neighboring districts and states.

Ali Sagar:

Ali sagar reservoir located in jankampet village. Yedlapally Mandal 2 km off the Nizamabad –

Basar road, is a scenic water body with a vast alluring garden developed by Nizam of

Hyderabad. The park spreads over 33 acres enriched with fountains and colorful profusion of

flowering plants, an enchanting summer house well laid out gardents, an island and hilltop guest

house thus making it a favored getaway.

These exists a deer park, facilities for trekking and water sports which are additional attractions

nestled at the destination.Ali Sagar is a very important picnic spot near Nizamabad. Ali Sagar in

simple words is a very colorful and beautiful garden developed to attract picnickers from

Nizamabad.

Ashok Sagar:

Ashok Sagar is located at janakampet village,yedpally mandal at a distance of about 7 k.m from

Nizamabad and 26 k.m from Basara.This is situated on the route to the Famous saraswathi

temple at basar from Hyderabad. It is a huge reservoir comprising of a beautiful Rock garden,

octagonal Shaped restaurant, swinging bridge, boating facilities and children park.

The garden is spread over an area of 2 acres with beautiful landscape and attractive natural

setting rock cuts.

There exists a 15 ft marble statue of Goddesses saraswathi in the middle of the water. The

lake is scenic with a backdrop of hilly landscapes. Boating facility is available at the lake as well,

and the rock garden itself makes for some fascinating viewing in a couple of spots. Landscaped

rock garden with winding path in the midst of rocks gives a memorable experience to the

visitors.

Sri Ram Sagar:

Pochampad Dam, also known as ―Sri Ram Sagar project‖ Stands tall across Godavari River

Which is considered as a Lifeline of North Telangana Region. Beautiful garden has been

developed at the dam premises which offers boating facility in the picturesque waters of the

massive reservoir. An island near the dam is a retreat for the migratory birds throughout the year.

The tourism Department facilities the tourists with boating facility in the vast reservoir. This

location serves as an ideal picnic spot for people from neighboring towns. Dam is located

towards north 53 k.m away from Nizamabad.

Mallaram Forest:

Mallaram forest is situated at a distance of 8 k.m to the south west of Nizamabad town. It is a

complete woody and dense forest which come to migratory birds and animals.

The pristine surroundings, fresh air and chirping of birds making it a perfect picnic spot for

the tourist visiting the place Located in idyllic surroundings, it is considered as perfect place for

eco tourism.

The major attractions are forest treks,a pagoda and a tower which serves as a view point tower.

There are seating spaces along the mallaram cheruvu providing scenic view of the location. The

forest department as provided seating arrangements for tourist overlooking the mallaram

cheruvu. The forest boats of 1.45 Billion years old rock that pulls you into lap of nature.

According to the geologists, this famous mushroom shaped rock at mallaram forest dates back

2000 Million years ago which also has a rock pedestal that strikingly resembles the upper portion

of a mushroom.

Public Health & Municipal Engineering

This Department is in charge of investigation, Designs and Execution of Water Supply and

Sewerage Schemes and all major works in all the Municipalities of Nizamabad and Kamareddy

Districts besides the Technical control over all the Engineering works in these Municipal Towns.

i. NZB – UGD (PART – B) Balance components :

The Govt. under the scheme of Urban Infrastructure development scheme for small and medium

towns (UIDSSMT) planned to provide Underground drainage along with sewage treatment

plants for NMC.
