Kalos & Klio1 Short Bio

Kalos&Klio (Christos Kalos, Klio Tantalidis) is an artist duo born in Thessaloniki, Greece, where they live and work. The pair has joined forces since 2005 and operates in a com-plementary fashion, considering the process of working as one, a path more intriguing given that they come from different artistic trajectories. Klio Tantalidis studied Painting, BFA (summa cum laude) in Hanze University, Groningen, NL,Printmaking, MA in Gover-nors’ State University, Chicago, USA and has an MFA, ( U of C scholarship) in Digital Arts, The University of Chicago, USA. Christos Kalos studied photography, (BA, ESP, School Of Photography, Thessaloniki, and GR) and painting (Boston College UK.).

Kalos&Klio post- pop, post- psychedelic digital works are breaking through the bounda-ries of the arts encompassing a variety of printed media, sculpture and installation creat-ing elaborate art environments that are intricate and multifaceted. 

Kalos&Klio have showed their work in Greece, America and Asia. Selected exhibition history includes: National Archaeological Museum, Athens, October 15th to December 15th, 2013, group exhibition, titled Offering -Greek contemporary artists, curator: Ma-nos Stefanidis. Lumen price, group exhibition, 2013 – 2014, in Arcade Cardiff Gallery, Wales, New York Institute of Technology, Gallery 61, New York City, Chelsea College of art & Design’s Triangle space, London and The Space gallery, Hong Kong, China. 2013; International fairs 2013 Re-culture 2, GR, Art Athina 2011-2013. Exhibition as feature artists at Liquid Identities Scoletta di San Giovanni Battista e del SS. Sacramento in Bra-gora, Venice; ID / Identities Koza Visual Culture and Arts Association, Istanbul, Turkey, 2012; participation at 2011 XV Biennale de la Mediterranée, SYMVIOSIS.
