Kaleidoscope A Monthly bulletin
Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town
Charter date: 5th Nov. 1997
Sponsoring Club: Rotary Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town
R I District 3292.
July 2011/12 Issue : 01 14th Rota year
The word Kaleidoscope is derived
From Ancient Greek καλ(ός) (beauty, beautiful), είδο(ς)(form, shape) & -ζκόπιο (tool for examination)
Kaleidoscope equipment is a circle of mirrors containing loose, coloured objects such as beads or
pebbles or bits of glass so that as the viewer looks into one end, light entering the other end creates a
colourful pattern, due to the reflection off the mirrors.
Hence we are the “observer of beautiful forms."
RI President Kalyan Banerjee has given us the following
RI Theme for the Year 2011-12
“Reach within to Embrace Humanity”
He has asked Rotarians to emphasis on the following:
1. The family: as an extended family and through it approach the community and all of
humanity.
2. Focus on continuity: build on successes, expand on them, and strive to do even more.
3. Strive for change: by initiating a true change along with peace, within ourselves and share it
with our families, our clubs, and our communities.
