Time seems to be flying thus far in 2020. I, personally, am looking forward to some of the exciting foundations that depict this time, such as National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, World Down Syndrome Day and the planning stages for Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month. The Kaleidoscope Vision encourages us to focus on loyalty which deeply mirrors all of the celebrations and tributes mentioned above. It takes loyalty to honor each other on a regular basis. Loyalty is always so much sweeter when it comes from the heart; however, similar to being a role model, we often have to make the choice to be loyal. This applies to people in our life, things that we care about, causes that we know deep down are important, and the universe in general. Its takes tenacity and dedication, but as service providers, as well as people with strong values, we are up for the task; especially if we do things together. I would love to hear from you. What do you think about when you ponder the word “loyalty?” How do you model being loyal to those around you? What are your causes? March might bring winds, yet a bright beginning also feels real. Have a fabulous month and remember to feel the gratitude for your ability to make a colorful difference in our world. Hello Everyone and Happy March,

Finally, Spring is on the way and we can anticipate sunshine and the

beginning of warmer weather. Time seems to be flying thus far in 2020. I,

personally, am looking forward to some of the exciting foundations that

depict this time, such as National Developmental Disabilities Awareness

Month, World Down Syndrome Day and the planning stages for Autism

Awareness and Acceptance Month. The Kaleidoscope Vision encourages us

to focus on loyalty which deeply mirrors all of the celebrations and tributes

mentioned above. It takes loyalty to honor each other on a regular basis.

Loyalty is always so much sweeter when it comes from the heart; however,

similar to being a role model, we often have to make the choice to be loyal.

This applies to people in our life, things that we care about, causes that we

know deep down are important, and the universe in general. Its takes

tenacity and dedication, but as service providers, as well as people with

strong values, we are up for the task; especially if we do things together. I

would love to hear from you. What do you think about when you ponder the

word “loyalty?” How do you model being loyal to those around you? What

are your causes?

March might bring winds, yet a bright beginning also feels real. Have a

fabulous month and remember to feel the gratitude for your ability to make

a colorful difference in our world.

Warmly,

MISSION MONDAY is our space to congratulate our

Direct Service Providers of the Month!

EPA: Dana Johnson is committed to providing quality care to

our individuals. She is an integral part of our activities

program, and has frequently assisted and supported the

coordinators with groups and activities. She recently helped

out in a pinch and went above and beyond by helping to run

peer group for a staff member who was unexpectedly unable to

make it to the church in time to get things started.

WPA: Maddie Camp has picked up multiple cases and

seamlessly moved into the role of a DSP helping and

promoting the independence of her individuals. Maddie

maintains open and effective communication with her CCs and

team members. Maddie submitted 5 IC referrals and continues

to submit more.

NEPA: Tia Cooper has been at KFS for over almost 2 years

and continues to excel in her position. Tia is open to feedback,

willing to improve her skills and has a great rapport with her

individuals. Tia goes above and beyond to help her individuals

become independent. Keep up the great work Tia!!

LCPA: Helen Schlegel has continuously shown a positive

attitude that is infectious to anyone she speaks with! She uses

supervision and asks for help when she needs it, and in return

takes feedback very well. Helen has also been more than

willing to pick up sub shifts when they are offered to her.

CPA: Mindy Wright worked with us a long time ago and

recently has come back to work with one of our individuals

every Saturday! She does a great job at encouraging her

individual to make healthier choices and getting involved in

the community. She has also recently referred someone to

become an IC who started her first shift two weeks ago!

Bowling fun in Allentown!

We made Valentine’s Day cards for

our loved ones and then made some

for the Black Kick Homeless Shelter!

Our Wednesday night group volunteered

at Caring for Friends in Philadelphia.

Packing food for the needy!

What You Do

1. Flatten the coffee filter and place it on a plate or newspaper, the

of a chenille stem to begin with.)

3. Fold the coffee filter accordion style, in about 1/2″ pleats.

4. Position the pleated coffee filter into the bent end of the chenille

stem. Center the filter at the bend.

5. Twist the chenille stem around the filter to secure it in place.

antennae.

7. Fan out the butterfly wings.

SPOTLIGHT! National Developmental

Disabilities Awareness Month

We are super proud to highlight Sarah who just

recently began volunteering at the Daily Bread Food

Pantry in Collegeville, PA. This is in addition to

Sarah’s extremely active life. Sarah brings a spark of

bright light to everything she does with her outgoing

personality and ongoing conversations. Sarah loves to

dress up, eat out, be with family and friends, and walk

for exercise. Sarah especially enjoys her time with

Kaleidoscope peers at special events and the Friday

bowling league where she often gets the overall high

score! Sarah absolutely loves her two basset hounds.

Praise for Kaleidoscope

Kyle’s family raved about Simeon and appreciates all

the work he does with Kyle!

--Amanda Sanabria, Program Director

Kevin has created a great relationship with our

family and is focusing on goals and objectives. He

has been very receptive to feedback and is very

thorough.
