Kalevit Sanitary Ware Ceramic A.Ş. operates in the bathroom products sector in Turkey under the Kale brand, manufacturing and selling sanitary ware and complementary products, bathroom and kitchen mixers and accessories, acrylic bathtubs and shower pans, bathtub and shower cabins.Kalevit was founded in 1993 by the Kale Group, Turkey’s largest manufacturer of ceramic tile, for the purpose of producing ceramic health supplies. This investment in the range of sanitary ware, which is considered a developing market, has been expanded over the years and possesses a broad domestic sales channel. In 1999, a partnership agreement was signed with the Europe’s largest construction materials manufacturer, the Roca Group from Spain in order to gain even more momentum. After this agreement was signed, the company was renamed Kalevit Roca Sanitary Ceramic Industries, Inc. and since 2000 it has maintained a presence in the market under the brand name RocaKale. In 2005, it was the second largest brand in the sanitary ware market. In 2005, an investment was made in a mixer assembly line and in 2007 an acrylic manufacturing plant was built. The company continues operations at the Çanakkale, Çan/Semedeli facilities with 40,000 m2 of indoor space and 80,000 m2 of outdoor space. After the installation of the company’s most recent distribution investments, sanitary ware capacity is two million parts. The capacity of the mixer assembly line is 500,000 parts per year, the acrylic manufacturing unit's capacity is 100,000 parts / year and in 2009, Kalevit began manufacturing shower pans and bathtub cabins, making it one of the largest manufacturers of bathroom supplies in Turkey.

The Kale Group has always believed that its reason for existence is to make investments that contribute to the land of its birth and Turkey. INSPIRATIONAL DREAMS AND DESIGNERS

The designer began his schooling at the Lahti Design Institute and completed his studies at Helwashbasini Art and Design University. He conducts his work at the studio he founded in 1998 called Friends of Industry.

Among Koskinen's achievements are awards such as Design Plus [2005, 2002, 1999], Compasso d'Oro [2004], Interior Innovation [2004], Fennia Prize [2003], IF Design [2002], Red Dot, Essen [2001].

HARRI KOSKINENADOLF BABEL

In addition to the Red Dot Award from his "free standing" bathtub design, he has garnered awards in various prestigious design competitions, including Design Plus, If, Busse Longlife Design Award, Design Center and Batimat.

Currently, Adolf Babel continues his modeling and design work with a multi-national team of 6-8 people. His designs feature simple lines and focus on the human element.

TAMER NAKIŞÇI

Tamer Nakışçı began in design career on an international platform in FIAT's concept design laboratory in Milan in 2004. In 2005, he won the Nokia Benelux Design Award, his first international award, with "888", the revolutionary shape-changing telephone he designed for Nokia in 2005.

He represented Istanbul at the Creativity Forum held in Brussels as part of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009 as one of the “100 young talents that will shape the creative future of Europe” identified by the European Union.

PIET BILLEKENS

After graduating from the Academy for Industrial Design In Eindhoven, Piet Billekens worked with architect Claudio Salocchi in Milan. He founded Foresee Design in 2001. He has developed design products for companies, such as Nobili Rubinetterie, Superinox Nobili, Gedy, CGS and Apogeo.

In addition to bathroom products, Piet Billekens has executed interior cabin designs for Nobili, Colombo Design, Fluid Café and Aqutech. Billekens was selected for inclusion in the ADI-Design Index 2004 for his Plus collection, and in the same year, the Plus collection won the Comfort and Design award at Mostra Convegno.

BAŞAK ERGİN

She graduated from the Marmara University Industrial Design Department as the valedictorian of the class of 1999. She worked for 8 years on bathroom and kitchen mixers, accessories, mirrors and lighting for a variety of companies.

In 2007, she established Başak Ergin Design. Ergin has numerous products that have been mass-produced, including more than 20 registered in her own name. Since 2007, she has continued to work with companies in different sectors as Başak Ergin Design.

CAN YALMAN

He aims for design to be a complementary philosophy at the heart of humanity and believes that it is a force that can contribute to our future. He has executed design projects for companies, such as e HNurus, Hisar, Arçelik / Beko, Bosch, Teba, Tariş, Inform, BAT, and Numarine.

The awards he has won include LG Elektronik Design Competition [1999], the Design Explorations Award [2001] and the Steelcase Mondo Materials Award [2001].
