1992The Kaiser Permanente Colorado Research Department, now known as the Institute for Health Research (IHR), is established.

2000The IHR creates a clinical trials
program primarily focused on HIV and oncology.
2001Kaiser Permanente surgeons complete the first successful separation of conjoined twins in Colorado.
2002The IHR begins providing cancer
data to the State of Colorado.
We implement smoke-free campuses throughout Colorado.
We launch our annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service.

partner of LiveWell Colorado, which leads to us joining
forces with HEAL Cities (2008), Hunger Free Colorado (2009)

2012We help sponsor the HBO documentary film, Weight of the Nation,
and lead community screenings, panel discussions and health fairs related to eliminating the country’s obesity crisis.

Our commitment to the environment is recognized by Greenhealth and the Clean Energy Means Business Corporate Summit.

As part of the Find Your Words campaign, we commit $1.5 million to fund mental health programs and staff in Colorado schools and lead artists in the production of three mental health murals.

to be recognized with this rating for the next eight years.
We expand into Northern Colorado, opening medical offices in Fort Collins and Loveland, followed by Greeley in 2013.
We create The Safety Net Specialty Care Program.
Our Information Technology Campus opens in Greenwood Village.
