WORLD HEALTH DAY

WORLD HEALTH DAY

“ Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Keeping this in mind K. R. Mangalam World School Paschimvihar celebrated the World Health Day on 7 April 2014 through various activities that were organized in school to highlight the significance of the issue of good health and well-being. They also made cards wishing healthy living to all. The aim of this session was to make them sensitize towards their health. The kids keenly participated in all the activities and contributed their participation in making it a fruitful and a blessed day.

EARTH DAY

‘Earth Day ‘ is the leading and celebrated environmental event at International platform . This day commemorates Earth’s unique place in the universe, as this is the only planet which has implausible bio diversity (i.e. is plants and animals). Therefore celebrations are observed for the efforts to shield flora and fauna and make the entire World dirt - free, so in our endeavour to instil an ongoing concern for our mother Earth, K. R. Mangalam World School Paschimvihar celebrated World Earth Day in a befitting manner on 22 April 2014. The day began with morning Assembly where the teachers highlighted the importance of keeping Earth clean, the cause of global warming and safety of the planet.The innovative activities and competitions were planned for the students to create awareness, to value what the mother Earth has blessed us with and hence to protect it, such as – colouring the pictures, clearing the school premises, turning off the lights to save electricity, making badges and reciting the poems etc.

EARTH DAY

Each child of Pre-Primary prepared a badge, displaying a message to save water and plant more trees. They also took pledge to keep their surroundings clean and green. For class I students English Recitation competition was organized on the theme ‘Save Our Environment’ for 3 consecutive days. The children recited heart rendering poems, advocating the significance of clean and green Earth. Through these activities the young and impressionable students were sensitized to the needs of our changing environment and were taught to play their part in a bid to protect our beautiful Earth. Each and every student participated with aplomb and took home the message of conservation.

SUMMER CARNIVAL

The onset of summer creates mood for holidays and brings in waves of new excitement and cascading entertainment. Keeping this thought in mind the School welcomed the arrival of summer season by organizing a fun-filled and informative summer carnival for the kids from 7 May 2014 till 23 May 2014.The entire school was decorated with various articles describing the summer season. A beautiful beach scene was also demonstrated by the pre-primary and primary students that showcased the perfect utilization of summer time, like playing in the sand, making castles, etc.The celebrations commenced with the watermelon cutting ceremony. Children dressed up as fruit and vegetable vendors were also gathered around and gave information on the season’s specialty very confidently.

SUMMER CARNIVAL

The first and foremost activity of the day was to make the students aware on various topics related with the season. Teachers encouraged them to participate in general conversation. The topics were – summer season attire, food, summer accessories, electrical appliances, etc.It was an informative session which the children enjoyed thoroughly. Students of Class I were given a platform to express their views by writing a few lines on the topic – “I like summer because…..” this activity had truly given a platform to the young writers of the KRM family.Students were engaged everyday with various delightful activities planned during the carnival, like colouring, pasting watermelon seeds on its picture, paper fan folding, tearing and pasting, rhyme recitation, pick and speak on summer related objects. To keep up their spirits high some fantastic days were also celebrated. such as Hat day, Glares day, Beverage day, Ice-cream day, Rain dance, Kitchenette activity – making a fruit salad, Summer fashion fiesta and the most awaited activity i.e. Splash pool, etc.

Each child’s enthusiastic participation in all these activities not only broadened his/her spectrum of knowledge but also exuberance and joy could also be seen vividly on each face at the end of this spectacular summer carnival which will keep them cool and high in spirit throughout the summer season.

MOTHERS DAY

Mother’s Day is a day for many people to show their appreciation towards mother and mother figure world-wide. It is an annual event but is held at different dates in the calendar depending on the country.This day has been assimilated into Indian Culture and is celebrated every year on the second Sunday of May. Mother’s day is a perfect time to honour their unconditional love and influence in society. Mothers are our guiding force and are responsible for making us who we are . To generate this special feeling in little mangalites , the school celebrated the Mother’s Day on 17 May 2014. Through different activities, the students reminded their Mothers’ contribution to their lives and though they may not show it every day, they were happy to get an opportunity to express their love and admiration to their mothers on this special day.

MOTHERS DAY

The mothers of K R M family were given a platform to showcase their veiled talents and so the participant mothers came forward on the given theme ‘ Indian Weddings’ and joined in fun loving games and competitions like : Ramp Walk , Wedding cake decoration , Mehndi Art on pot, Candle designing , Gorgeous Ghadouli etc. Mothers took part with great zeal along with their kids, who proved to be following their mothers’ footsteps. Ms. Shalini Kaul the In charge and Ms. Disha Vij PTA member graced the occasion by handing over the prizes to the winners and boosting the morale of all the participants. Thus the day ended with gracious moment of love and joy shared amongst us over a special refreshment hosted in their honour.

K. R. Mangalam World School, PaschimVihar , (Class I) brought laurels to the school by securing First Position inthe Inter-School Ramp Walk Competition , held at K. R. Mangalam World School (G. K. Branch) . The children of class I paid an ode to the Maratha empire (13 to 18 century), wherein they walked the ramp and flaunted their lavish and ethnic Marathi costumes, personified as the eminent personalities of that era, with great confidence.

Inter – House Quiz

K.R. Mangalam, Paschimvihar, organized an Inter House Quiz Competition, with the aim to enhance general knowledge and confidence in children. The students of pre-primary and class I were shortlisted, who represented their respective houses- Topaz, Sapphire, Emerald and Ruby. They were divided into the teams. The array of questions, related to various topics like plants, animals, current affairs, etc. were planned. All the houses participated with their quintessential enthusiasm and confidence. Though each team had put up the best efforts yet the Topaz house grabbed the first position.
