The contest started in 2013 to expand the excitement and joy of the Columbus Christmas Parade to the most impor- tant participants, the children. Sponsored by Main Street Columbus each year, there are three categories in which local schoolchildren are eli- gible to participate: Kindergarten – 1st Grade; 2nd – 3rd Grade; and 4th – 5th Grade. There are three winners in each category that will each be given a cash award, thanks to an anonymous local business owner, who truly represents the spirit of the season, and Certificates of Achieve- ment. A public meeting will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Genesis Dream Center, located at 1820 23rd Street North, Columbus, Mississippi to allow community members to voice their views about EPA's proposal. EPA is conducting a 30-day public comment period from December 7, 2018 to January 6, 2019, to seek public input on the proposed actions. During the comment period, the public is encouraged to review and offer comments relating to the proposed plan. Comments will also be received during the public meeting scheduled for December 13, 2018.
