1.1 PC Access Enter http://xmeye.net into the internet explorer and you will see the page below. In the Login and Preview box select “By Device” option:

Enter the DVR serial NO (refer to 5.5 Info for DVR serial NO), or input your assigned user name and password (do not input default user “admin”, as it’s invalid), the verification code and then click login and preview. Interface is shown below:

c. Input the User name and password that you assigned to the specific device (default user “admin” is invalid here, otherwise anyone can get remote access to your DVR), if you never assigned a new user and PW, then try and use one of the previous 2 methods.

Open the cover and unfasten the screws to take out the upper mounting bar; Then connect the power and data cables, install the HDD (either a 2.5 or 3.5 inch is ok, maximum HDD is 3TB, but if u need 6TB, you’ll need to change the power adapter to a 12V 3A at the minimum) .

4. Boot up/Shut down/User Login

4.1 Boot up Connect the power, and when the indicator on, the DVR will boot up. Note: Please use the factory furnished power adapter to avoid any abnormal situation or damage to the device.

4.2 Shut Down To shut down the device, there are soft-off and hard-off: <Soft-off>: go to <main menu>-<logout>-<shutdown>, or Please refer to 4.4 Desktop Shortcut Menu. <Hard-off>: unplug the power connection on the device rear panel. Note: 1. Power recovery: when the DVR is shut down abnormally, reboot it, all recordings data is saved automatically and is restored to the previous status once the DVR is rebooted. 2. When replace the HDD :always shut down the power before replacing to prevent circuit damage and for safety purposes.

4.3 System Login When the DVR boots up, the user must login and then the system provides the corresponding functions with the user preview. There is only one user setting: “admin”. “Admin” is the default user name with no password protection, just click “OK”:

4.4 Desktop Shortcut Menu In preview mode you can right click the mouse to get a desktop shortcut menu, as shown in the picture below:

This shortcut includes: Main Menu, Guide, Quick Set, Record Mode, Playback, PTZ control, Coaxial Control, TVI&AHD, High Speed PTZ, Alarm Output, Colour Setting, Output Adjust, Logout, View Mode Shift. In the following sections below we introduce you some key points.

4.4.3 Record mode Here is a quick menu for you to assign each channel a recording status, for more detailed settings, you can refer to 5.1.1 Record Configuration.

4.4.4 TVI&AHD Here you can assign which channel to be connected with AHD TVI or CVI camera. ”auto” means no requirement.

5. Main Menu In the Main menu, there are six blocks, and each block is briefly explained below.

5.1 Record Make sure a HDD is installed and connected before proceeding. 5.1.1 Record Configuration

[channel]- Choose the corresponding channel number. Choose the “All” option to set the entire channels. [redundancy]- Choose the redundancy function to double backup the file. [length] -Set the time length of each video file between 1min to 120min. 60minutes is the default value. [mode]- Set video state: select either schedule, manual or stop. -Configuration: record according to the set video type (common, detection) and time section. -Manual: corresponding channel starts recording 24 hours non-stop. -Stop: whatever state the channel is in, the corresponding channel recording stops when the stop button is selected. [period]-Set the time section of common recording, the recording will start only among the set range. [record type]-Set recording type: regular, detection or alarm. -Regular: record according to the set time section. The video files type is “r”. -Detect: within the set time section, trigger the motion detect, video blind, video loss or abnormal analysis. When above alarm is set as opening recording, the recording detection state is on. The video file type is “m”. 5.1.2 Playback There are two methods for you to play the video files in the hard disk. 1. in the desktop shortcut menu, please refer to 4.4 Desktop Shortcut Menu. 2. in the main menu, go to<Main menu> - <record> - <playback> Note: The hard disk that saves the video files must be set as read-write or read-only state

5.1.3 Backup You can back up the video files to external storage through backup.

The external storage must be installed before the file backup. If the backup is terminated, the backup files can playback individually. Backup format: configure the backup file format, H.264 or AVI.

5.2 Alarm Here we only introduce “Motion detection” function.

a. Choose the Channel and select “Enable” to active Motion Detection. b. Suggested “Interval” to select is 10 seconds. c. Choose “Record Channel” for channels you want. d. If “Show Message” is selected, the monitoring interface will show an alarm message when Motion is detected. e. If “Buzzer” is selected, the DVR will buzz when motion is detected. f. If “Send email” is selected, the system will send you an email notice when motion is detected.(please refer to 5.3.4 Net Service for adding an email address)

【System Time】-Set the system date and time.

【Date Format】-Set the date format: YMD, MDY, DMY.

【Date Separator】-Set the listed separator of the data format.

【Time Format】-Select time format: 24-hour or 12-hour.

【Language】-Set the language you prefer.

【Storage Full】-Select either overwrite or stop record when HDD is full.

【Video Standard】-Select PAL or NTSC system.

【Auto Logout】-Set time to logout automatically if you prefer.

【Machine Name】-Assign a name to this device.

5.3.2 Encode Setup Set the video/audio code parameter: video file, remote monitoring and so on. Set every main stream parameter in the left part, and set the extra stream parameter in the right part. Note: Extra stream introduces the video compression technique which applies to multi-channel Playback simultaneously, dial-up multi-channel real-time monitor under poor bandwidth, or mobile Monitor and so on.

【DHCP Enable】-Obtain IP address automatically (not suggested)

【IP Address】-Set the IP address. Default: 192.168.1.10.

【Subnet Mask】-Set the subnet mask code. Default: 255.255.255.0.

【Gateway】-Set the default gateway. Default: 192.168.1.1.

【Primary DNS】/【Secondary DNS】:-Domain name server. It translates the domain name

into IP address. The IP address is offered by network provider. The address must be set and reboot then it works.

【Media Port】-Recommended default: 34567.

【HTTP Port】-Recommended default: 80.

【HS Download】-Boot up your network and enable upload stream faster.

【Transfer Policy】-There are three strategies: adaptive, quality preferred and fluency preferred. Fluency precedence and self-adaption are valid only when the assistant code stream is turned on, refer to 5.3.2 Encode Setup. 5.3.4 Net Service

5.3.6 PTZ Configuration When under hybrid mode/full digital mode(main menu->system->digital->Channel type), a PTZ device and RS485 Device will be shown on the screen:

【Channel】-Choose the dome camera input channel.

【Control Method】-Select either coaxial, RS485 or all.

【Protocol】-Choose the corresponding dome protocol.

【Address】-Set Default: 1 as the corresponding dome address..

Note: the address must be consistent with the dome address.

【Baud Rate】-Choose the corresponding dome baud rate length. You can control the PTZ.

Default is 115200.

【Parity】-Kind of device language, normally no need to use.

5.3.7 RS232 RS-232 is a standard for serial communication transmission of data use to connect PTZ transmission with this DVR.

5.3.8 Tour Here you can enable monitor to tour itself by assigning which channel and tour time.

Please click appropriate box on the left to choose DVR channel type(the default is AHD), click “OK”, then the DVR will reboot. The DVR can support multiple combinations of AHD TVI, CVI Analog and IP selections. Note: To add an IP Camera, please take the following steps: a. please make sure the IP camera address and DVR address are within same network. b. you need to change channel type because the default for all channel types is AHD. Please refer to section 5.3.9 Digital to set channel type, choosing any mode with IP; after a reboot, interface will display as shown below:

【Channel 】-Select channel of the IPC camera you want to Install.

【Enable】-Select “Enable” to allow viewing.

【Time Sync】-Select IP camera recording time according to your request, options like off,

UTC time, local time, and time and time zone.

【Decode Order】-Selection of Decoding.

【Connection Mode】-Select an option to see one camera or multiple cameras views on

single screen.

【Add】-If you click “Add”, then following interface will show:

【Search】-Click on “Search” to search all IP addresses within the same LAN(such as IPC,

DVR, and NVR). Select one IP address and set other parameters, such as Configure name, device type, protocol, user name, password and etc. Then click “OK”, and this IP camera will be connected by DVR. Multi connection mode can connect several devices, and each device will be displayed one by one; the tour interval can not be set for less than 10sec. Single channel can only be connected to one monitoring device.

5.4.1 Storage Configure and manage the hard disk.

[Read/write disk]-the DVR can write or read data. [Read-only disk]: -the DVR can read data but cannot write data. [Redundant]: -double backup the video files in the write-read disk. [Format Storage]: -erase all recording in HDD. [Recover]: -recover the bad sector or Unformatted Drives. [Partition]: -make hard drive into different Section. 5.4.2 Account Note: 1.the character length is 8 bytes maximum for the following user and user team name. The blank ahead or behind the character string is invalid. The middle blank in the character string is valid. 2.there is no limit in the user and user group. You can add or delete the user group according to user definition. The factory setup include: useradmin. You can set the team as you wish. The user can appoint their purview in the group. 3.the user management includes: group/ user. The group and user name cannot be the same. Each user only belongs to one group.

【Modify User】-modify the existing user attributes.

【Modify Group】-modify the existing team attributes.

【Modify PW】-modify the user password. You can set a 1-6 bit password. The blank ahead

or behind the character string is invalid. The middle blank in the character string is valid.

Here you can also choose and set “GROUP”, after member are chosen, user purviews are a subclass of the group. We recommend that the common user’s purview be set lower than the advanced user. Note: Please remember the assigned user and PW, because if an incorrect password entered five times continuously, the account will be locked.(You can contact us for Super Password if you really forget your assigned password) (To access the system, wait one half hour (when the system automatically unlocks) to log in or reboot the DVR and then log in )

【add group】add a user group and set the purview. You can assign which user belongs to

which group, and manage purview of each group.

【delete user】-delete the existed user attribute.

【delete group】-delete the existed group attribute.

【update ] -update the status of any group.

The system restores to the default, which means erase all settings you had done before.

[HDD Info]:-you can check the HDD status, like how much HDD capacity is used and is left. [BPS]:You can view each channel bit and the recording capacity per hour. [LOG]:you can view your footprint record. [Version]: you can check the DVR serial NO, MAC, etc. Note: Serial NO is for you to obtain access to this DVR by mobile APP or website (please refer to 1. Login Cloud Server)

5.6 Logout

【logout】quit/exit the menu and go to the next screen.

【shut down】quit the system and turn off the DVR power supply.

When you press the shutdown button, a schedule hint will display. After three seconds, the system will shut down. Attempting to cancel the shutdown midway through the process will not stop the shutdown.

【reboot】quit the system and then the system reboots back up.
