June 1st, 1997Whoa, Mrs.. Gladstone is intense!It seems like she is never happy about anythingI do. I never see her smile and she doesn’t seem very happy about the way I drive either. I wish I had stayed home with my mom instead of drivingher all over.

June 30th, 1997I met the coolest guy today..EVER! He’s an old dudehis name is Harry Bender. If I could choose a dad itwould be Harry, I know I have a dad but his drinkingmakes me wish he was wasn’t some times. I feel bad about it but I can’t help it. He’s embarrassing. Likethe time he came into work drunk. God, it was awful!!Harry drank a long time ago too, but he doesn’t anymore.Maybe there’s hope for my dad too. That’s all I have.

July 4th, 1997Mrs. G ROCKS! She took me to this Texas style BBQ andI met this really HOT guy Clint. He rides in rodeos and wears a cowboy hat and boots! He’s like a real life cowboy!We rode horses out into the wild and he promised to keep in touch once I get back to Chicago. He has a cousin hereso I might just get to see him again! .

August 17th, 1997Well, Eldon is an idiot! What kind of a sontries to take his mom’s business away. He’sa huge creep. He almost won by keeping me out of the stockholders’ meeting. If I hadn’t learnedhow to do what I felt was right in my heart thissummer by hanging out with Mrs. G., I never wouldhave been able to stand up for myself or Mrs. G!I feel like I could do anything now!
