We only received two pledges this week, bringing our responses to 48, representing 33% of our church family. To date, members have pledged $131,129, which represents 60.3% of our budgeted giving for the current year. This Sunday, November 18 th , will be the last chance for those of you who have not responded to return your 2019 pledge card. If you’ve misplaced your pledge form, please contact the church office or call me for a replacement. In evaluating the results of this year’s campaign, I am somewhat hopeful. While our participation in terms of the number of returned pledge forms is somewhat disappointing, we are currently at about two-thirds of the number of responses received last year. The financial support pledged to date is nearly equal to the total pledged last year, which is encouraging considering that we have an additional week in our campaign. I am praying that a significant number of our members will come through and respond this week. We have had numerous temple talks to discuss the finances of the church and stress the importance of your financial support. Not only does the church need your support, we need the pledge information to allow our finance committee and council prepare our 2019 budget. Volunteers working within our committees are the lifeblood of our church. It is important for all of us to show our love and our belief through Christian service. While we have many members serving on committees and volunteering their time and talents with some serving on multiple committees, we need to involve more of our membership in these efforts. For those of you who have returned your pledge cards, thank you. If you’ve not yet returned your card, I urge you to discuss how you might support your church with your time, talents, and gifts and bring your pledge card to Emanuel this Sunday, November 18 th . The Annual Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner will be held at Emanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday, November 22, 2018 from noon until 2:00 p.m.

As in the past, we will deliver meals to local shut-ins. Please call the parish office, 231-843-3686, by noon on Wednesday, November 21, to order your meal.
