THE JOINT-VENTURE
The joint-venture consists of two companies, Jurutera Lee Bersekutu and LBT Resources
Sdn Bhd, headed by Mr Lee Kim Kew and Mr Bill Hong respectively. The Joint-venture
was formed in 1992 by Mr Lee and Mr Hong way back in 1993 under the name of LBT
Perunding, which was later changed to LBT Resources Sdn Bhd in early 2003.
LBT Resources Sdn Bhd on its own provides professional services in Thailand, it has also
participated in construction contract negotiations in Dubai in the years from 2005 to
2009 as a professional team member of China Machineries & Electricity Company
(CMEC). CMEC is now a listed company in China, it was in Dubai to negotiate for high rise
building construction contracts.
Jurutera Lee Bersekutu was first founded in 1978, when Mr K.K. Lee decided to venture
out on his own after working with the then British Company United Engineers in
Singapore for over five years during which he gained substantial heavy engineering
experiences in foundations, bridges, factory buildings, multi-storey hotel buildings and
condominiums.
Jurutera Lee Bersekutu has its own office building at 169 Jalan Dato Sulaiman, Century
Garden, Johor Bahru. It has a staff strength of 20 including five senior engineers, the
company is one of the longest and most established Civil and Structural Consultants in
Johor Bahru.
For JV projects in Kuala Lumpur all design works are done in the Johor Bahru head office
and is supported by Mr. Bill Hong on submission and technical coordination in Kuala
Lumpur. With todays IT facilities drawings and documents are emailed across continents
instantly, distance is not a barrier to effective communication.

ORGANIZATION
Mr. Lee Kim Kew, is the founding principal of the firm JLB, he is now also the principal of the joint venture.
Mr. Bill Hong is the executive partner of the joint-venture overseeing particularly in all
aspects of structural design and implementation. High rise building structure design is of particular interest to Mr. Hong.
An experienced and capable London trained engineer, Mr. KG Tan, who has been with the company for more than twenty five years, leads a team of capable and experienced engineers both from overseas and local universities. They are :
* Water Engineer - Puan Zanariah London degree with 25 years experience.
* Road & Sewerage
Engineer
- Mr Suthagaran With Masters Degree from local University with 25 years experience.
* Drainage & Structural
Engineer
- Mr Choo With 1st Class Engineering degree from local University.
* Road & Drainage - En. Sanusi Civil works Designer with 25 years experience.
An experienced pool of technicians and draftsperson assists the engineers.

The duties to be discharged by us in the role as Engineering Consultants on the basis of
full service appointment are :
Investigating available data or information relating to the project and which are
relevant to the works and collaborating with other professional advisors or
consultants appointed by the client or architect.
Obtaining from the client or architect the basic requirements of the project and the
general standard it is desired to maintain.
Making preliminary study of the project and submitting a preliminary report
summarizing the requirements, making recommendations on suitable system and
equipment, and providing cost estimates to facilitate approval of design proposals.
Preparing detailed and tender documents on agreed design basis.
Preparing tender documents and calling of tenders in line with proposed building
schedule.
Assessing and reporting on tenders received, and assisting client to interview
prospective tenderers and making fair and appropriate recommendations.
Preparation of contract documents.
