Jungle Explorers Series at a Glance for Kid‐O‐Deo (continued)
Lesson 1: Faithfulness When Joshua marched into the Promised Land, he expected to need tools like a sword and a shield. First, God had Joshua use a much greater tool, the fruit of faithfulness. When God gave Joshua a strange command, Joshua had to choose between trusting God and doing what seemed right to him. Joshua’s choice shows us what it means to be faithful no matter what. Lesson 2: Patience Sometimes the hardest thing you’ll do is to not do anything. Waiting for something can make a minute feel like an hour and a day feel like a year. This week, the story of Hannah will show us something important about patience. While waiting for a baby, she continued to trust God. Hannah shows us that having patience for God’s timing is always worth the wait. Lesson 3: Self‐Control Daniel was one of many men captured by King Nebuchadnezzar and brought to work the city of Babylon. But Daniel stood out from the others. Everyone else was eating the delicious foods presented by the king, but Daniel and his friends did something different. In this week’s story, Daniel shows us the power of self‐control. Lesson 4: Kindness/Goodness/Gentleness There are many examples of Jesus using the fruits of kindness, goodness, and gentleness. One of those times was on a day when Jesus had sailed across a sea and was met by a large crowd. We’ll see what happens when Jesus meets a sick girl’s father and a group of heartbroken people. Jesus’ actions in this story tell us about three powerful fruits of the spirit. Lesson 5: Peace In the Bible, we can read about Jesus going off to places by himself to talk to God. Even though Jesus loved helping people, he knew that making time for peace and spending time with God was important too. During a huge storm out on the water, Jesus demonstrated what it can look like to have true peace—the kind of peace that only comes from God. Lesson 6: Love/Joy This week, we’ll hear a story Jesus told about how powerful love can be. It’s about a lost son and the love his father had for him. When we have love, it’s that much easier to have true joy—another fruit! God loves each of us so much, and he wants us to joyfully share that love with others. We’ll learn how we can do that this week in Kid‐O‐Deo!

Opening Song 3:00
Welcome 2:00 Hi Kid‐Os! Welcome to Kid‐O‐Deo! My name is _____________, and I’m so excited to see each and every one of you here! We will be singing some songs, learning a Bible Memory Verse, and hearing an awesome story. Before we do any of that, let’s go over the rules we have in Kid‐O‐Deo. Do any of you know how many we have? THREE! That’s right, so let’s get started!
Rule #1: When I’m talking, you are listening! Everyone put on your listening ears, and on the count of three, let’s practice listening! Rule #2: Keep your hands and feet to yourself! Do a little clap and place your hands in your lap! Rule #3: Stay in your spot! Let’s take our special glue sticks and put some glue on our spot to help us stay in the right place!
Now that we know the rules, we’re ready to have so much fun together. Today we’re going to be jungle explorers!
Here in the jungle, we’ll be exploring something called the “Fruit of the Spirit.” Usually when we hear the word “fruit,” we think about fruit that we eat, but this kind of fruit is different. This fruit is what God calls some of the good things he gives us when we follow him and his Son, Jesus. The Fruit of the Spirit can help us make good choices and treat other people well. Over the last few weeks, we’ve learned about six different fruits. Does anyone remember what some of those are? We’ve learned about faithfulness, patience, self‐control, kindness, goodness, and gentleness!

Today, we’ll be learning about a fruit called “peace.” Can you say “peace?” PEACE! Peace is something we get from knowing and spending time with God. Peace helps us feel good and stay calm even when there’s a lot going on around us. Peace can help us not get angry when someone does something we don’t like, and it can help us not be scared when something happens that would usually scare us.
Value 0:30
When we have peace and the other fruits that God gives us, it can help us make wise choices and live our lives for God! Can you repeat these words after me? I can be who God made me to be. I CAN BE WHO GOD MADE ME TO BE. Awesome!
Worship 3:00 God wants us to be friends with his Son, Jesus. Everyone stand up and let’s use our hands, feet, and voices to sing a song about how Jesus is better than anything else!
Bible Adventure 6:00
It’s so much fun singing with all of you. You can sit down now. Our friend, Rocky, has a message for us. Take a look at the screen!
It sounds like Rocky sent us a letter all the way from the forest to the jungle. But I wonder where the letter is? IN THE MAILBOX! Good thinking, Kid‐Os! But…where is the mailbox?
Do This: Have kids help direct you to the mailbox. You can make this silly by pretending you can’t find it. Once you’ve found it, open up the mailbox and take out the weekly letter. Read the letter out loud. The content is below for your reference.

Thanks for your help, everyone. Here’s our letter! I’ll read it to you.
Hello Kid‐Os! I need your help. I know that the Fruit of the Spirit is not fruit that you eat; it’s the good things God puts in our lives when we choose to follow him. Today’s fruit is peace, but here is my problem…I don’t know how to use this fruit! You have some items in the boxes on your stage that will help you learn more about having peace. Do the activities and answer any questions from inside the boxes. If you do that and earn all four fruit cards, we will learn how to have peace together! Sincerely, Rocky
Oh, look! Rocky also sent us these fruit cards to put on our boxes. They’ll help us see what fruit we’ve earned!
Do This: Hold up the fruit cards.
Should we look inside box number one? YES! I agree.
Do This: Take out the Bible and Bible storybook from box #1 and hold them up for the Kid‐Os to see.
It looks like our first activity is to go on an adventure...a Bible Adventure!
Kid‐Os, are the words and the stories in the Bible real or pretend? REAL! That is right. The Bible is God’s true Word, so we know this story really happened. The story you are about to hear comes from the Bible, but we’re going to read it from our storybook because the pictures help us imagine what it might have looked like back when the Bible was written. Let’s get started!
Do This: Have kids help you “turn” the pages on the screen with an exaggerated arm wave throughout the story.

When Jesus was here on earth, he traveled to many different places to teach people about God’s love. He would perform amazing miracles like healing people who were sick. Jesus showed others that he cared for them. Even though Jesus loved people and spent a lot of time with them, he knew that it was important to make time for peace.
Jesus would often go off by himself to spend time with God. He would go somewhere quiet like the mountains or out into the wilderness, and He would talk to God. What do we call it when we talk to God? PRAYING! Jesus knew that praying and having a friendship with God can help us have peace. Peace is when we feel calm and are not worried or afraid.
One time, Jesus was on a boat with some of his friends, who were also called his disciples. While they were out on the sea, a big storm came. Can you move your arms in the air and swoosh like the wind? Waves were crashing up over the sides of the boat, and it was filling with water. The disciples were very afraid, but Jesus wasn’t scared. In fact, Jesus had so much peace that he was sleeping through the storm!
The disciples woke Jesus up. Jesus got up and said to the wind and the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” The wind and waves obeyed Jesus, and it became completely calm and peaceful. The disciples were amazed by this miracle. After the storm was quiet, Jesus asked the disciples why they were so afraid. Jesus knew that the disciples could have peace too. Jesus showed the disciples that they could have peace by trusting in God to take care of them!
Awesome job listening to our story, Kid‐Os! We completed the first activity by going on our Bible Adventure. That means we earned a fruit card!
Do This: Remove the “#1” from the first box and replace it with the apple card.
We’re going to earn more fruit cards and learn how we can have the fruit of peace like Jesus, but before we do that, we have to practice something that helps us learn all of the Fruits of the Spirit!

Memory Verse 3:00
Kid‐Os, it’s time for our Bible Memory Verse! This verse is super awesome because it helps us learn about all nine Fruits of the Spirit. Which fruit are we learning about today? PEACE! That’s right, and there are eight others that we get from God when we follow him and his Son, Jesus. Everyone stand up because it’s time to practice!
Do This: Practice the memory verse.
It sounds like a lot of you know the verse really well! If you don’t know it yet, keep practicing at home. It’s a long verse, but you can memorize it if you try!
Worship 2:00 Everyone stay on your feet because we have another song to sing! And guess what? When we sing, God is listening!
Application 4:00
That is such a fun song! You can sit down. Remember, we’re trying to earn fruit cards by learning about a very special kind of fruit…the fruit of peace! Let’s look inside box number two to see if there’s something to help us learn more this special fruit.
Do This: Take the boat out from box #2 and hold it up.

What’s this? A BOAT! In our Bible Adventure, Jesus and his disciples were on a boat when a big storm came. But was Jesus scared? NO! What fruit did Jesus use to help him stay calm during the storm? PEACE! That’s right! God is the one who gives us peace, and Jesus spent lots of time with God while he was here on earth because he knew that having peace is really important. And guess what? By talking about our Bible Adventure, we earned our second fruit card!
Do This: Remove the “#2” from the second box and replace it with the grapes card.
We still need two more fruit cards, so let’s see what’s in the next box!
Do This: Take the problem picture out from box #3 and hold it up.
It looks like we have a problem picture to solve. The question that goes with the picture is on this card. I’ll read it to you.
Do This: Read the problem written on the note. The content on the note is below for your reference.
There is a big storm outside, and Cayden is really scared of thunder. As he’s watching the storm and listening to the thunder, how can he have peace? Choice #1: Cry and hide under the bed. Choice #2: Pray and ask God to help him stay calm and to take care of him during the storm.
All right friends, which is the better choice? Number one or two? TWO! That’s right! Spending time with God and praying to him can help us have peace. God can help us stay calm even when we’re feeling afraid or upset. By talking about the problem picture, we earned our third fruit card!
Do This: Remove the “#3” from the third box and replace it with the orange card.
We only need one more fruit card! Should we see what’s inside box number four? YES!
Do This: Take the giant banana out from box #4 and hold it up.
What is this? A BANANA! Yes, it’s a giant banana with a note that says to “Peel, Eat, and Go Bananas!”

Do This: In the following paragraph, demonstrate the “peel, eat, and go” bananas actions for the kids. Be exaggerated and silly in your movements. After you shout “Let’s Go Bananas,” just dance like crazy for about 10 seconds or until the music stops.
All right Kid‐Os, follow along with us if you’re not sure what to do. First, let’s look around and listen to the noises in the jungle like those monkeys! Can you make a monkey sound? Now reach up and grab a banana from a tall banana tree. OK Kid‐Os, peel your bananas! Keep peeling! Ready to eat your banana? Nom nom nom! Now it’s time to go bananas, which means we’re going to dance like crazy! Don’t forget to stay in your spot. Everyone stand up, but be ready to sit back down when the music stops. Let’s…Go…BANANAS! Great job, Kid‐Os! You can sit down. Guess what? We earned our last fruit card! This one was probably just for fun, but we love having fun here in Kid‐O‐Deo!
Do This: Remove the “#4” from the fourth box and replace it with the banana card.
We did it! We earned all four fruit cards. That reminds me…I hope Rocky has been listening as we’ve been learning about peace. Rocky? Are you there?
Rocky says, “Here I am! Thanks for helping me learn how to have peace! You rock!”
You did an amazing job today, Kid‐Os. Remember, God wants you to have peace by spending time with him, trusting him, and staying calm. When you follow God, he will give you the special fruit of peace!

It’s time for our Big Idea, which will help us remember what we learned today. We’re going to check in with our friend, Ranger Ron, who is going to help us practice our Big Idea together. Stand up tall, everyone!
Know This: The Big Idea is, “I can have peace.”
Kid‐O‐Whampus 2:00 Awesome job! All right Kid‐Os, stay standing and listen up because I have a question to ask you…are you ready to go Kid‐O‐Whampus?!
Prayer 1:00
That was awesome! You can all sit back down. Now it’s time for us to pray. When we pray, who are we talking to? GOD! That’s right! Praying to God and having a friendship with Jesus can help us have so much peace. There are lots of different ways to pray. You can pray by thinking words in your head or you can pray by talking out loud. You can pray with others or by yourself. Right now, we’re going to pray together! You can fold your hands in your lap and close your eyes. We don’t have to pray that way, but doing that can help us to think about the words we are saying to God. If you want, you can echo the words for the prayer after me. Dear God, We love you. Thank you for loving us. Help us have the fruit of peace. Amen.
It’s been great hanging out with you today! Now it’s time for you to go back to your classrooms where you will get into groups with your leader and other Kid‐Os, have a snack, and do a fun activity! See you later!
