Lasting CompassionLINDA FREEMAN

Over seventeen years ago Pastor Rich and Robyn

Wilkerson came to Miami FL with a dream and a

vision to reach lost, hurting and broken people

and to spread the gospel message through a city

that what was and is still in major need of restora-

tion and healing. Never did they imagine that their

efforts to do ministry in an inner city community

would soon be reaching people across the world.

Trinity Church’s annual Cambodia Missions Trip has

been an unfolding dream that has been led by the

Executive Director of Peacemaker Family Center,

Pastor Linda Freeman. Each year they have seen

miracle healings, salvations, community develop-

ment projects completed and the love of Jesus

spread across a nation. Like Jesus commanded in

Matthew 28 we have been given authority by the

power of the Holy Spirit to “go and make disciples

of ALL nations, baptizing them in the name of the

Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Mat-

thew 28:19). Enjoy this beautiful expert from Pastor

Linda Freeman as she gives a snapshot of what

happens on this life changing trip.

In less than three months, a diverse team of servant

leaders will leave Trinity Church for Phnom Penh,

Cambodia. This will be my fourth opportunity to

lead a Trinity Mission Team to Cambodia. Our team

this year is comprised of nurses, college students,

general contractors, photographers, retirees,

teachers, entrepreneurs, artists, engineers, and oth-

ers who will conduct mobile medical clinics, light

construction projects, and teach bible classes to

children. We will be working at Cambodian Care

Ministries school sites in Phnom Penh, in a remote vil-

lage in Kratie Province, and at their new ministry site

along the Mekong River. Our trip to the Mekong

River village will be the second time our team will

have the opportunity to participate in bringing the

Gospel and practical compassion to a previously

unreached people group. Medical supplies for

these medical care outreaches will be provided

by MAP International. MAP International is highly

respected, faith-based, medical supply resource

for missions around the world.

the opportunity to

visit MAP Interna-

tional’s state-of-the-

art pharmaceuti-

cal warehouse in

Brunswick, Georgia.

Together we toured

MAP’s warehouse

and talked to their

Director of Opera-

tions, Timmy Boat-

wright, about special medical supply needs that

we anticipate for this summer’s medical outreach

trip. We also learned how MAP has distributed $5

billion in medical supplies around the world. Our

long term goal is to partner with MAP to establish a

free-standing medical clinic in Kratie Province.

When our team traveled to the remote village in

Kratie Province last summer, we knew we would

be serving a group of people who had never seen

Americans before nor had they ever heard the

Gospel. The people in the village were so amazed

by the love and compassion showed to them by

our team. Today, this village has a thriving home

church and discipleship program. The Light of

Future School – which opened a few weeks after

our visit – has more than 160 children in attendance

and all have accepted Christ as their Savior.

I am looking forward to what God is going to do

through our compassion outreach team this August

in Cambodia!

Fathers in homes

Faith on lips

Creativity in minds
