Jean Elliott Jean has moved in with her daughter after years of supporting the Phoenix Players which she is now too far to come along, I and the committee would like to say a big thank you for all the support she has given to us over the many years. We have sent our appreciation along with a gift and a card. I’m sure most of you at some stage have spoken and worked with Jean over the years and wish her well with her new life with her daughter.
Date for Travelling show rehearsals ..... Our next rehearsal for travelling shows is on Thursday 16th July @ 7.30pm in the Upper Hall. All phoenix members are welcome to attend and get involved. As yet we do not have a booking but as we have just started putting together a show it will not be long before we will be ready.Please contact Val or a member of the committee for further information.
Our Next Production! The Profane Autumn of Sherlock Holmes. Rehearsals are now underway and are starting to come together. Performance dates are 23rd until 26th September 2009.Val has asked me to include some items that we are desperate to beg, steal or borrow for the show:-

_________________________________________________________________________________Social Events A Race to the finish and a healthy profit was on the cards at the race night we held at the Southsea Angling Club – Granada Road. We made taking out expenses, a profit of £150.70 well done everyone who attended and won lots of cash.
We have some more things in the pipeline:- Barn Dance is being organised for October Bingo or Quiz night with a Christmas Buffet for 12th December at
the Southsea Angling Club – Granada Road More details will follow soon.
Members’ News CONGRATULATIONS!!Liam and Louise are getting married on 29th August at the Salvation Army Church in Lake Road, Portsmouth at 2pm. Tina has expressed that if you would like to come along to watch the ceremony, you are most welcome.I and the committee would also like to congratulate them and wish them well for the future.
OLIVER!Jane’s Sarah and Sue’s Jamie are in Stage One’s production of Oliver! at Ferneham Hall on 29th, 30th, and 31st October 2009 Nightly at 7.30pmTickets are available from Jane for £9.50 and £8.00
Jelly RollersPeter Clarke’s Jelly Rollers’ next gig is at the Nell Gwynne at 9.00 pm this Friday 10th July. All are most welcome.
