School comes to an end and the youth of the community will be in full force outside or with their digi- tal gaming devices. Beginning June 4 th ,we will be participating in the school lunch program. Those household with qualifying incomes are eligible for their school students to participate in the govern- ment breakfast and lunch program available through the Public schools. As I stated on June 4 th through the beginning of August we will be a lunch site for school students under 18 years of age to have a healthy regulated lunch in our Fellowship Hall working with the Hernando Public School System. From 12:00 until 1:00 pm we will serve any and all children who come here for lunch. We are honored to be able to work with the school district and they are truly thrilled that we are participating. We are volunteering our facility as a safe place for lunch and hope many of you will find it in your hearts to help. If you can volunteer for one day that s great; if more thats great too. Sharon Kostner, Rick Henry and myself have been trained by the school district as what needs to be done. We will need to train any volunteers about 20 minutes. If you can help out please let Sharon Kostner, Rick Henry or myself know of your desire to help. If we find an interest, we may keep the Fellowship hall opened for a longer period so that the safe placecontinues to give children an ability to be safe. Not every place in our community is safe, but here it will be safe. June will surely wiz past us like the rest of the year so far. The first Sunday in July will be our God and country service and we will have a family dinner following the service—not the usual hamburgers and hot dogs. (CHANGE). It has been suggested that we get back to a monthly family fellowship meal, to reacquaint ourselves with each other. It will be buffet style and a small fee will be asked as donation. As the church that is a family, having a family meal every or every other month might be a great starting point. Sure, some will say thats great others will not be in favor, and we hope that it will gain a closer knit congregation, so its worth trying. I will attend the FL/GA district convention in June and will be able to report back what took place and the men who have been elected to the numerous positions in the district. I am not aware of any earth shattering things to vote on this triennium. God has nudged us in the direction of handing out food. Yes I said God, we have been hooked up with a food source we were not looking for and are becoming a part of the Tampa Bay area where we can purchase food in large amounts for 18 cents a pound. It reminded me of the joke of the drowned man who complained God did not save him. A canoe, row boat, motor boat and helicopter all refused now the man is dead. So God why did you not save him? HE DID. God has given us this push toward food for the poor and unless we want to say, we have no idea which type of missions we should be doing, God has dropped this in our lap. We will pursue this ministry, we will join with other churches to make sure as many people are helped as possible. Ive been praying for a sign, and the sign dropped in our lap. Im not the only one who sees this ministry. God is still working through the church and this time its our congregation. Lets embrace all the ministries with love and compassion and do it for the love of God. Want to help more? Use the scrip card program the profits go toward the general fund we win and you get card to use for groceries, gas, restaurants, stores, many to choose from. Use Amazon to order products go and sign up for Amazon smiles you buy what you want and the church can get a percentage of the purchases of all the congregation. WOW><WOW= YIPPY. Lets all work to not simply be Christ Lutheran Church but to be Christ alive in this community living and loving so that ALL might be saved. Now thats a Church that is a family.Blessings on your summer. Pastor Meseke June & July 2018 Newsletter The Church that Is A Family Rev. Game Night

Game Night is here at Christ Lutheran Church June 1st and July 6th and is on the 1st Friday night of each month @ 7 pm. Domino’s, Pinochle, or what would you like to play with others here at church? Come and enjoy a fun evening of fellowship.

Dartball Group Dartball will be here on Saturday June 9th and July 14th at 9am. No experience required. You will be shown how to throw a dart, and learn that “experience” players still have trouble getting on bases. Come and enjoy a fun morning in the Fellowship Hall and join the group afterwards for lunch.

LWML / Mary Martha The LWML/Mary Martha group will resume meeting in September.

49er’s

The 49er’s are meeting @ 5 pm on Friday June 15th and July 20th. Bring a dish to share and plan to enjoy an evening of fellowship in the Fellowship Hall.

The Happy Sew N’ Sews We have certainly been Blessed– A couple of fairly recent newspaper articles in our area have cause some folks to donate fabric, etc. to our group! So while we have concluded our regular season, we decided to meet once a month during June, July & August—So mark your calendar June 14th, July 12th, and Aug 16th 9-11 or so in the Fellowship Hall. Additionally an article on our group will be in Lutheran Life (the news magazine of the Florida Georgia District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) this month and in the Thrivent Magazine in June. We will be adding a couple new projects and we’d like to get a little ahead of things before our regular season starts on Sept the 6th. If you’ll be in the area on any of these dates, you will help us to continue to be a Blessing!

The Mission Board "Mission of the Month" for the month of June is help support

the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. A fire ignited and spread through the church causing millions of dollars in damage. The Victorian Gothic Church, one of the oldest in the city, was built in 1878. The church is recognized as a state and Milwaukee landmark. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The preliminary damage estimate from the Milwaukee Fire Department was around $17 million.
