Raymi Beltran, Environmental Specialist, IFC Raymi is an Environmental Specialist with IFC’s Oil, Gas and Mining Division based in Washington DC. His main responsibilities include project appraisals, supervision and client E&S support for alignment with IFC’s environmental and social standards and guidelines. Prior to joining IFC, Raymi was the Environmental Manager for Kinross Gold Corporation based in Santiago de Chile. Before that, Raymi was the Environmental and Community Affairs Manager for the PERU LNG export project in Peru. Raymi has extensive environmental management experience in the development of projects in the extractive industry sector. This includes the development and implementation of ESMSs and ESIAs for large oil and gas and mining projects, the implementation of pollution prevention practices for the mining and oil and gas sector, the implementation of hydrogeological investigations and biodiversity management programs in sensitive environments, and the development of stakeholder engagement programs and community investment programs in local and indigenous communities.

Nicholas Cotts, Group Executive, Environment & Social Responsibility, Newmont Mining Nick joined Newmont in 1994 as the environmental manager for the Yanacocha mine in Peru. During his 11 year tenure in Peru his role evolved into a social environmental focus including external relations, sustainable development and communications. Nick was based in Ghana, West Africa from 2006-2010 in the role of Regional Vice President, Environment and Social Responsibility. The West African experience was largely focused on the development of a new region including new mine startup, permitting/development, and establishing an Environment and Social Responsibility program. The Ghanaian operation included a significant focus on land access, large scale resettlement, and establishment of an Environment and Social Responsibility operations team. Nick has recently transitioned to the Newmont Corporate offices in the United States where he is focused on supporting North American business activities from an ESR perspective as well as taking the lead on a number of global initiates. Nick received his Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University in Agronomy-Soil Conservation in 1988. He then went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Range Management-Restoration Ecology in 1991 from Colorado State University.

Karla Diaz, Associate Operations Officer, IFC Peru Karla began her career as a consultant for Ernst & Young Consulting and Deloitte working in the design, planning, and implementation of projects for different industries both in Peru and Brazil. She then joined the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism in Peru as Strategy Advisor in the National Bureau of Foreign Trade, where she worked in the development of the National Strategic Exports Plan. After her MBA she re-joined the ministry as Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Trade in Peru with special focus on competitiveness and export development. Karla joined IFC's Office for Advisory Services for Latin America and the Caribbean in April 2006 as Operations Analyst. She is currently an Operations Officer based in Lima, Peru and provides support to Royalty Management projects in Peru, leading the MIM Peru and PERU LNG ERI. Karla holds an MBA from HEC Paris.

Aidan Davy, Senior Program Director, International Council on Mining and Metals Aidan Davy is responsible for ICMM's Community and Socio-economic Development Program, including issues relating to Human Rights and Indigenous Peoples. He also leads ICMM’s work on sustainability reporting and independent assurance. Aidan has over 22 years of cross-sectoral experience on sustainable development issues, working with a range of private, multi-lateral and not-for-profit organizations. For the past 12 years, his primary focus has been on social responsibility and accountability issues relating to the extractive industries.

Amanda Diaz, Operations Analyst, IFC Colombia Amanda’s experience in the private sector includes the coordination of the Quality Management System for Wyeth Laboratories Inc. in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. She has also joined NGOs in Colombia and in The Netherlands, in projects related to analysis of information for local economic development. Before working for IFC, she was contractor for the Colombian Institute of Rural Development. Amanda joined IFC Advisory Services in Latin America and the Caribbean on November 2008 as Operations Analyst, based in Bogota. She is part of the teams implementing Strategic Community Investment projects in Colombia and Mexico. Amanda holds a MA in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) part of Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Hague, The Netherlands), and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes (Bogota, Colombia).

Monika Weber-Fahr, Global Business Line Leader - Sustainable Business Advisory, IFC Ms. Weber – Fahr serves as the Global Business Line Leader for Sustainable Business Advisory Services in the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and manages its Sustainable Business Advisory Department. In these roles, Monika determines strategy for IFC’s portfolio of concessional investments and advisory services operations that lead to the adoption of sustainable business practices specifically among firms in infrastructure, extractive industries, manufacturing, agribusiness, and services sectors. Projects and programs promote good corporate governance, build the capacity of small firms, advance women entrepreneurs, and encourage management and investment decisions that are sustainable and inclusive. Monika focuses in particular on IFC-wide quality assurance, knowledge management and cross-regional collaboration in these areas. Specific priorities are engaging the private sector in the climate change agenda, leveraging global supply chains to promote growth and employment, and building market solutions for sustainable food and agriculture. Over the past 15 years, Ms. Weber-Fahr has worked in strategy development, innovation and organizational change in IFC, the World Bank and with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), often with a focus on energy-related topics. She holds an MSc in Economics and a PhD in Business Economics.

As a member of the SEGOM team, Katie is one of the authors of the Bank's first major publication on the gender and EI (Mining for Equity: Gender Dimensions of the Extractive Industries), as well as the Bank's first guidelines and indicators for mainstreaming gender in EI (Mainstreaming Gender into Extractive Industry Projects: Guidance Note for Task Team Leaders). Morten Larsen, Mining Specialist, World Bank Morten Larsen is a Mining Specialist in the World Bank’s Oil, Gas and Mining Division. Fernando Ruiz-Mier, Senior Program Officer, IFC Peru Fernando has experience in consulting, the public sector, and academia. Before joining the IFC LAC facility, he was a partner at Ruiz Mier Consulting & Research in Bolivia where he did consulting and market research work in the areas of decentralization, public services, micro finance and poverty. He had previously headed the consultancy practice at KPMG in Bolivia, as partner-in-charge. He has done research and consulting work for institutions such as the World Bank, the IADB, CAF, CEPAL, UNDP, Harvard University, and Debt Relief International. He also held the position of Manager in Charge of Reviewing Operations at the Andean Development Corporation. His public sector experience includes serving as Vice-Minister of Social Policy and Investment in the Ministry of Human Development, as Vice-Minister of Public Investment and External Financing in the Ministry of Planning and as Vice-Minister for Monetary Policy in the Ministry of Finance, all in Bolivia. He taught economics at Purdue, Texas Tech and the University of North Carolina. He joined the IFC LAC Facility as Senior Operations Officer in 2006 and is responsible for the portfolio in Peru, including the Mining Royalties Management and Mining Royalties Monitoring projects, as well as the BPZ project. Fernando has been working on municipal capacity building and social accountability projects in IFC for the last 5 years. He has lead the development of the approach and methodology IFC applies in Revenue Management projects. Fernando holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Purdue University.

Julio Rojas, Community Affairs and Social Manager, Peru LNG project, Peru. Julio Rojas manages Community Affairs and Social Matters in the PERU LNG Project. He is a seasoned professional with large experience in social and negotiations management including the design, analysis and implementation of Compensation and Social Investment Programs, Stakeholder Engagement Plans, Management of Grievances Procedures for oil and gas industries projects in compliance with the Peruvian as well as international standards and regulations. In his position, he is responsible for social issues and for negotiations with stakeholders, local, regional and social agencies and social licenses. During the last five years, he has been responsible for the Land & Easment Acquisition Process in PERU LNG Project, a 3.8 billion dollar project, which is the largest private investment in the history of Peru. Mr. Rojas holds a Bachelor of Law from the Catholic University at Lima, Peru.

KC Stewart, Local Content Supply Chain Advisor, Chevron KC Stewart is the Local Content Supply Chain Advisor for Chevron Corporation. In this role, she leverages nine years of heavy industry experience, a supply chain background, and international business knowledge to lead the company in the development and implementation of Chevron’s Local Content Supply Chain strategy. Prior to her current position, KC held the role of Global Category Manager and Team Lead in Chevron’s Environmental Management Company. Before joining Chevron, KC managed the alternative fuel supply chain for Waste Management, Inc. and worked closely with Regulatory Affairs and Operations to develop a procurement strategy for compliance with the California Air Resource Board’s fleet emissions regulations. She also contributed to Waste Management’s sustainability strategy representing the Procurement function. KC holds a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University and will be completing her MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management this summer. Vera Songwe, Lead Economist, World Bank Dr. Vera Songwe is a Lead Economist at the World Bank. She is currently the Advisor to the Managing Director Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. Dr. Songwe is core member of the World Bank Group team that worked in 2008 to help countries deal with the food price crisis by setting up the Global Food Price Crisis Response Program an new instrument which provided timely short term resources to over 30 countries in need. Today she also coordinates the G-20 long term agriculture fund. Prior to her current job she worked on East Asia for over seven years. Prior to joining the Bank, Dr. Songwe was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Southern California and at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, USA. Ms. Songwe holds a PhD. in Mathematical Economics from Center for Operations Research & Econometrics from the Catholic University of Louvain (CORE-UCL) in Belgium. She graduated from the University Of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a BA in Economics and a BA in Political Science. Julio Dávila Silva, Member of the Municipal Council of Cajamarca, Peru Julio Davila is from Cajamarca, a poor rural region with high presence of mining activity in Peru. Mr. Davila has a degree in agricultural studies from the Cajamarca Public Technological Institute. After working 10 years as a civil servant for the National Basins Management and Soil Conservation Program (Pronamachcs in Spanish), he was elected the Mayor of Los Baños del Inca (a district in Cajamarca). He was the Mayor during two political cycles: a) from 1999 to 2002 before royalties’ transfers started to increase; b) from 2007 to 2010 after IFC’s pilot project was completed. Since 2011, Mr. Davila has started a new political mandate, which will be completed in 2014, as member of the Municipal Council of Provincial Municipality of Cajamarca.

Mikael Sundberg, Head, Risk Analytics, Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) Mr. Sundberg has a wide background in corporate financial management, investment management, and risk management. Currently he holds the position of Head of Risk Analytics and ALM Policy at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA). To help safeguard the long-term financial sustainability of the Agency, the team’s areas of responsibility include pricing, capital adequacy, investment policy and strategic asset allocation, with the World Bank’s Treasury as the main asset manager. Before joining MIGA, Mr. Sundberg held a Financial Officer position with the finance department of the International Development Association (IDA), the concessional lending arm of the World Bank. Prior to coming to the World Bank, Mr. Sundberg held positions including Division Controller at NCC AB, a leading Scandinavian construction and engineering group. He holds an MBA degree in Finance from the University of Maryland, a B.S. in Business and Economics from Uppsala University, and a Civil Engineering degree from Mid Sweden University.

Dafna Tapiero, Lead, Strategic Community Investment, Sustainable Business Advisory, IFC Ms. Tapiero brings nearly 20 years of experience working with the private and public sectors to develop sustainable solutions to support economic development. At IFC, Tapiero leads the organization’s Strategic Community Investment efforts to ensure the distribution of local benefits and community engagement linked to the investments IFC makes around the world, in sectors ranging from infrastructure to agriculture. In January 2006, Tapiero founded IFC CommDev, the Oil, Gas and Mining Sustainable Community Development Fund, a $14 million fund, that has become the leader and "go-to" resource for technical knowledge, support and funding to improve the impact of community development programs around oil, gas and mining projects. Previously at the World Bank, she founded and ran the Financial Sector Reform and Strengthening (FIRST) Initiative, a US$60 million global fund established to provide direct support to countries in reforming and developing their financial systems. Ms. Tapiero began her experience at IFC in 1995, managing IFC’s $40 million Russian Land Privatization project. She has also served as the Knowledge and Partnership Manager in the Financial Sector Vice Presidency of the World Bank. Ms. Tapiero received her M.A. in International Economics and International Relations from Johns Hopkins’ School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Linda Wedderburn, Supply Chain Adviser, Anglo American Since July 2007 Linda has incubated and built the Supply Chain Sustainable Development (SCSD) unit at Anglo American. This included developing, socialising and rolling out Anglo American’s policy on Sustainable Development in the Supply Chain. In 2010 Linda designed and enabled the organisation wide Local Procurement Policy. Linda joined Anglo American in 2001 as a Chief Information Officer in the base metals division and moved to group procurement in an IT role in 2003. Prior to this she was employed in various roles at Gold Fields. Linda ran her own small management consulting business for 2 years between employment at Gold Fields and Anglo American. Linda has a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics and a Master’s Degree, with distinction, in Science Education and a Diploma in Project Management.

Robin Weisman, Principal Investment Officer, IFC Ms. Weisman is a Principal Investment Officer for International Finance Corporation (IFC), where she leads the work to improve the competitiveness of its extractive industry clients through activities that maximize the benefits for their communities. The main focus of her work covers three areas: 1) design of supplier development programs; 2), creation of a revenue management systems; and 3) strategic community investment. Ms. Weisman recently led a team to develop a good practice handbook for companies interested in increasing local procurement. Prior to her work on local procurement, Ms. Weisman covered IFC’s financial investments with clients in a range of industries including extractives, general manufacturing and tourism, primarily in Africa, Russia and Latin America. Before joining IFC, Ms. Weisman worked for Citbank and Standard Chartered Bank. Ms. Weisman has a MBA from University of Chicago.

Duval Zambrano, Operations Officer, IFC Colombia Prior to joining the IFC, Duval worked as Business Services Center Manager for the Poverty Reduction Project/Alternative Development Project at Chemonics Inc. Previously he worked as the Andean Region Representative for the Conservation and Ecotourism Enterprise Department at Conservation International (CI). Duval also worked as a Project Manager at the Intermediate Technology Development Group (ITDG) and as a consultant for ILO and CARE. He has extensive experience in cluster development, production chain and technical assistance schemes and has produced several publications on community business, tourism planning, and local economic development. Duval has been working for the IFC Advisory Services in Latin America and the Caribbean as Operations Officer since September 2004, is currently based in Bogotá, Colombia and is responsible for the portfolio in Colombia. Duval Zambrano holds an MBA from the Business School for Graduates (ESAN) in Lima, Peru, and a B.S. in civil engineering from the Catholic University in Lima.

Luc Zandvliet, Director, Triple R Alliance Inc Luc Zandvliet is the director of Triple R Alliance Inc, which supports companies that operate in frontier markets in their stakeholder engagement strategies. In this capacity, he has supported the external affairs departments of large oil and mining projects in places such as Tanzania, Pakistan, Ghana, Panama, Libya etc. Prior to that, Luc was the Director of the Corporate Engagement Project at the CDA Collaborative Learning Projects. Engagement Project documents best practices and develops practical management tools. Before heading the Corporate Engagement Project, Luc spent seven year in the humanitarian field, working with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Burundi, the DRC, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Eritrea and Uganda and with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Ethiopia. Together with Mary Anderson, Luc authored “Getting it Right: Making Corporate-Community Relations Work” (April 2009) for corporate executives and business schools documenting best practices with regard to company – community relations in contexts of social and political instability. The book is based on the lessons learned through the Corporate Engagement Project and on Luc’s experiences visiting over 25 company sites in 16 countries including Shell in Nigeria, BP in Colombia and Total in Myanmar/Burma, Nigeria, Sudan and Mauretania. Luc holds an MSc in Personnel Management from Tilburg University in the Netherlands and a MA in Humanitarian Assistance from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
