Dr. Myrtle Greene provided a brief update on the monthly reports for March and April 2021. She gave the new Board Members a brief overview of the program, as well as recent and upcoming conferences.

1. Discussion on Resuming In-Person Board Meetings- the Board Members agreed by consensus to meet in person for the August meeting. 2. Mr. Baker also welcomed the new board members and thanked the former members for their service. He let the new appointees know about receiving W-4 and other info from the MQA Division Director’s office in the mail in the next few weeks. He appreciated the six members who contributed to the Long-Range Policy Planning survey, which will be reviewed at the hybrid board chair/vice chair meeting in September. Aprille Alward, Regulatory Supervisor, has resigned as of today and Ms. Passett is working to fill that vacancy. MQA staff returned to the building on May 14th, although some are still working remotely. The Division is looking at possible telework options for the future. Mr. Baker also continues to serve as Acting Bureau Chief of Health Care Practitioner Regulation. He thanked as always, the great, hardworking team of board staff, legal counsels, and prosecutors. Mr. Baker asked for volunteers for the following liaison roles: Budget, Florida Nursing Quarterly, and Unlicensed Activity. He will also get with legal staff to coordinate placement of the Recommended Orders which were pulled from this agenda to either the August meeting or a conference call later this month or in July.
