CHURCH INFO 3
Jean Wimmer, Lay Servant of Medford UMC
phone: 715-748-2804 email: [email protected]
Dear Church Family,
It’s been warm and wet this season; it’s great to see the sunshine. Oh, how the grass is growing, moving
from brown to green - a new season to grow. Do you have spiritual growth to nurture?
Did you pick up a baby bottle to throw some change in? Father’s Day is the day to return, no matter
what has accumulated. The Abiding Care program is well worth the donation.
June is Central District Conference held in Green Bay this year. I am looking forward to attending,
listening to speakers and seeing new presentations. Familiar faces and new ones are always exciting, and
exchanging ideas is soul lifting.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for the sunshine and new growth. May we find the path you have chosen for us to grow in
spiritual ways. In this new season, may we be as the warm breeze and say what others need to hear. May
we all become stronger disciples for you. In Jesus name I ask for this. Amen.
Amount Due in 2019: $13,308 Amount Paid in April: $225
Total Paid YTD: $2,618
Remaining Balance: $10,465
One of the SALT board’s goals is to be more transparent to the
congregation of the church. This means that they want everyone to be able
to know important things about the church, including the finances.
In April, the money received from tithes and offerings was $6,396.01. The
amount of the April expenses was $8,965.82. As you can see, the outgoing
amount was more than the incoming amount, which left a deficit of
$2,569.81. This deficit was avoided by transferring $3,000 from savings
into the checking.
If we continue down this path, the outlook does not look good for the
future of our church. If you have an idea for a fundraiser or a community
event to raise awareness of our church in the Medford Area, please contact
Jean Wimmer who is the Community Connection chairperson and also the
Special Event Coordinator.

SALT BOARD NEWS FROM THE LEADERS OF MEDFORD UMC 6
Our Mission: To make new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Our Vision: By the grace of God we reach out to all those who need hope, comfort,
support, and the love of Jesus Christ.
The S.A.L.T. Board will have their May meeting with Kay Kotan, HCI Coach through video conferencing. That meeting was on May 28th, too late for this newsletter. As mentioned previously, one of the prescriptions from the Healthy Church Initiative is “Intentional Faith Development.” When you hear the word intentional, what do you think of? For me it brings to mind purposeful, action, movement. Those words require that we are going to do something to move in our faith. We are not all in the same spot with our faith development. Some of us might be new to faith, some may be lifelong believers and some may be somewhere in between. Wherever you are on your faith journey, you have discovered that the journey is not always an easy or smooth path. There may have been road blocks, detours, setbacks, dead ends….But if we want to build our faith, grow in our trust in God, we must be intentional by continuing the journey. Pray, read the Bible, attend church, participate in a Life Group, join a ministry team, volunteer are just a few actions we can take to be intentional in our faith development.
If you have questions, observations, concerns, please let us know. Our next meeting June 18
@ 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. You are welcome to attend and observe the work of this
team. We appreciate your input as we work to fulfill the Mission and Vision of the Medford
UMC.
