The Village Wide Garage Sale Days were held on June 3-4, and they were a great success! We had over 50 sales on the list, and town was buzzing with activity those days. We will hold another Village Wide Garage Sale on August 26-27, please call the office by August 23 to sign up. The first Farmer’s Market of the season is June 25, 2016 at Kraemer Park from 9am-12pm. There will be vendors with fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as baked goods and crafts. Please stop out and support the local economy. Our next big event is the Independence Day Celebration on July 3. Due to rising costs, we are trying to raise additional funds in order to keep the same quality show that everyone is used to seeing in Oak Harbor. You can help by purchasing a star at several locations throughout Oak Harbor from now until the end of June. We are raffling off VIP seating for those who give a donation of $10 or more, and we will draw 5 winners on June 30. We are also getting ready to start planning the Apple Festival, if you would like to be a part of this great event, we are looking for volunteers to help in many different areas. Habitat For Humanity 10th Annual Golf Outing Open registration has begun for the 10th Annual Habitat for Humanity of Ottawa County Golf Scramble sponsored by Materion. The event will take place at the

RVI Seeking Business Partners RVI is looking for business partners for employment for the individuals they serve. RVI, located at 8380 W. State Route 163 three miles east of Oak Harbor, serves

adults who have developmental disabilities. RVI is currently looking for work both in their workshop, and in the community. The individuals who work in their

workshop enjoy doing repetitive jobs such as assembly, sorting, etc. The individuals who work in the community are interested in a variety of jobs. For

Leadership Ottawa County Seeking Director Leadership Ottawa County is seeking an energetic, self-directed individual to fill the position of LOC Program Director. Under the general supervision of the Leadership Ottawa County board, the program director will develop, plan and organize each monthly class session of Leadership Ottawa County. An annual stipend will be paid

to the program director. The amount will be negotiated between the program director and the LOC board. Qualified candidates will have general knowledge of Leadership Ottawa County; demonstrate success in working as part of a team; and be willing to work flexible hours with minimum supervision. Cruz’N Nights Car & Bike Show In conjunction with the Chamber’s Independence Day Celebration,

Oak Harbor Development Group Friday Night Movies The Oak Harbor Development Group will be hosting a series of Free

Friday Night Movie Nights in Downtown Oak Harbor this summer. The first movie is sponsored by Croghan Colonial Bank and will be

Zookeeper. It will be on June 17th, 2016 at 8:00pm outdoors at Croghan Colonial Bank in downtown Oak Harbor. Popcorn, candy

and refreshments will be available for purchase at the movie. Please bring your own lawn chairs and blankets for this event. In case of inclement weather, it will be held indoors at the Radiant Windows Warehouse (Old Gordon Lumber Building). They are still

The Oak Harbor Development group in conjunction with the Oak Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce will again be holding Downtown Oak Harbor Farmers Markets on the fourth Saturday of each month June-October from 9:00am to

12:00pm. The location of the market will again be in Adolphus Kraemer Park North Church Street. Along with farm fresh produce, farmers market vendors can also

provide fresh baked goods, herbs, fresh cut flowers, all types of plants, fruit, cider, handmade crafts, garden décor, antiques, art, music jewelry and gourmet food items. If you are interested in being a vendor, you may call Marilyn Sandwisch,

The Oak Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce will again be presenting the Independence Day Celebration on Sunday, July 3, 2016. Come and join us for a family friendly night of fun! Gates open at 5:00pm, and festivities will begin at 5:30pm along

the Portage River. The chamber tent will be serving beer, pop and water, and all proceeds help fund the fireworks show. The Apple Festival Royalty will again sponsor

the Duck Race along the Portage River. You can also enjoy performances from Infiniti Dance, Class A Dance Studio, Harbor Lites and our featured band “Last Born Sons”. Journey’s Family Amusements will be on hand with giant inflatables for the kids, Food

concessions will be provided by Oak Harbor Boy Scouts Troop 316, Snowie Daze Sno-Cones, Boy Scout Troop 370 & Chestner’s Kettle Korn. American Fireworks will

present the fireworks show at dusk.

The Ducks Are Coming!! The Oak Harbor Apple Festival Royalty Court will again be selling tickets for the Royal Duck Race to be held at 8:00 pm at the Independence

Day Celebration, Sunday, July 3, 2016.

Prizes are: 1st - $300, 2nd - $150, 3rd - $75, 4th $50, 5th—$25 and Last Place $100. Tickets are available from any member of the Royalty Court and at the

Independence Day Celebration prior to the race. Donation is $5.00 per duck.

Proceeds benefit the Apple Festival Royalty Court to assist in their promotion of the Apple Festival and the Village of Oak Harbor.
