BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK Blessings in a Backpack closed out their year on May 19th with 108 bags filled. This year we have filled 3,780 bags for the children for the weekend for Bloom School. Thank you to everyone who helped fill bags each week, and for the financial help that the church has given. We will resume in September. SAGUARO KNITTERS will be selling our Kitchen Kloths this Sunday. This are handmade cotton dishcloths in a variety of colors. We're selling them for $5 apiece. The funds will go to buy supplies for our baby afghan project for Casa de los Ninos.

BRADY CHURCH LIFE The Brady Church Life Committee is soliciting requests for this years second quarter funding. Areas to be considered are includingbut not limited to evangelism, education, long-range planning, leadership development, special events, ministerial contingency, new programs plus other ideas consistent with church life that may involve the larger outside environment. Any one may apply. Our next meeting will be June 25th, 2015. Please submit proposals to Robert or Shirley Cal-lahan no later than, Friday, June 19th, 2014 for consideration. Please use the form: Brady Church Life Funding Form for Re-questing Funds, available at the Church Office. Robert & Shirley Callahan, Chairs Brady Church Life

THE DISCIPLES WOMENS MINISTRY is very proud to give a check for $5,000 to the Infant and Daycare Center to help the teachers with their expenses. Thanks to everyone in the church who made such a wonderful contribution to this important program. Many thanks to those who helped with the Boutique. All of the money from the Boutique as well as a donation from the DWM helped to make this possible.

APPLICATIONS DUE JULY 1 FOR BRADY OUTREACH GRANTS Brady Outreach funds are awarded for areas including neighbor-hood, community, world/global, Basic Mission Finance, new church development and ideas beyond the scope of our own church development. Requests are not limited to church-related projects but are considered for humanitarian efforts and out-reach as well. Groups should not apply for funding that will be used for institutional sustainment (salaries, rent, etc.) but rather for specific, preferably new, needs/projects within the organization. There are so many deserving groups out there, think

about it, won't you be an advocate for one? In the first quarter we were able to award grants to the Sr. Jose Women's Center in Tucson for homeless women, Community Home Repair Projects of Arizona (to fix swamp coolers for low income people) and our own Sarah Williams as she prepares to be a mission intern at a hospital and nursing school in Mungali, India. Applications are available in the church office. Questions may be directed to Sharon Jensen, Chair, at [email protected] SAGUARO DISCIPLES WOMEN MINISTRIES is proud to host a Church Women United Forum on Saturday morning, June 13th in the Sanctuary. The guest speaker is Rev. Mary Alice Do from First Christian Church in Tucson who has written a resolution that will be presented at the Disciples of Christ General Assembly in July. The resolution is titled "Becoming a People of Welcome and Support of People with Mental Illness and/or Mental Health Issues." Refreshments are at 9:30 and the program begins at 10am. Please join us. Thank you. Carol Friesen
