GOD IS GOOD I feel better than I have in a long time. I have no pains or fevers and feel normal again. I can’t stress enough how powerful prayer is. We have finished our first trimester and are well into our second, which is hard to believe. Matthew and Katherine had a good start in school, and are now on summer vacation. Jennifer, Daniel and I combined for eight A’s and one B in language school for the first “tri”. Yes, I (Tim) am the one who kept us from being perfect:) The pace has picked up a little this “tri”, and the days seem to be flying by. More and more Spanish everyday, although sometimes overwhelming, by God’s grace we are learning. In the last letter we told you about Pricilla, the girl we were able to get some very needed dental care. She’s doing great. Priscilla, Jennifer and the dentist have all worked hard to get her teeth and gums healthy. We believe that just one more visit is all she needs. A huge thank you to a donor from Kentucky who paid for her treatment, you helped change her life. The students at the language school had a “date in the park with Christ”, thanks to the vision of a student at our school who wanted to bring the local churches together. Many students and their families gathered with representatives from about 8 different churches in the park to share Christ. This was done verbally, through a sports program, through games and crafts, and blood pressure screenings. To watch each of my children share Christ was very humbling. I just love watching God work. A couple of weeks ago we made a trip to Nicaragua with some friends from our school to keep our visas up to date. Every ninety days we have to leave Costa Rica and get new stamps for our visas. Although we missed our bus we were able to get another one 2 hours later and made it across the border with no problems. Praise God, sometimes getting across the border can be stressful. We also wanted to put out a financial concern . We don’t like to always bring up finances, but it is necessary. We’ve had a drop in our monthly support recently. We need to increase the members of our team so if you are interested in serving with us let us know, we would love to talk with you. The body of Christ going to Peru will be more effective if it doesn't have to think about finances all the time, but rather serving the Kingdom. Matthew and Katie with a boy in the barrio. Yea, it’s tough, but...

by Daniel Goshorn• • •

I’ve wanted to move to Peru since I was 12 years old. That’s what I have been working towards, that’s all I’ve really thought about for the past 6 years. And now we’re so close. But just because God has called us, and just because I really want to go, that doesn’t mean it’s easy. As we’ve been preparing and raising money these past 6 years, I’ve watched my friends go through their lives without me. They all went through high school, and I just watched them all go to senior prom and graduate without me, and it was tough. But then, just when I start to feel bad for myself and start to have this pathetic self pity enter my heart, God shows me what He’s doing in MY life. A lot of people tell me how I’m sacrificing so much and how that’s so admirable, but really, God is giving me so much more than I’m losing.

He hasn’t called me to have a “normal” teenage life, and I’m really glad He hasn’t. He’s given me the chance to live in Costa Rica and soon in Peru, to be bilingual, to experience things that none of my friends in the States will ever get to experience, but most of all, He’s given me a calling and direction,

and showed me His will in my life at a very young age. So yeah, leaving everything I knew and watching the world I knew move on without me is tough, but... God has given me so much more than all of that. The blessings outweigh the losses astronomically.

SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS WEEK: REST IN THE LORD

This week was Spiritual emphasis week at school. We had no homework in order for us to relax with God. We had David Sills as a speaker at the school for a week. He is an awesome speaker and writer. We have heard David speak at our Perspectives training in the States 2 years ago. This week was a good reminder that even missionaries need to rest.

1 My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. 3 How long will you assault a man? Would all of you throw him down-- this leaning wall, this tottering fence? 4 They fully intend to topple him from his lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse. 5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. 6 He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. -Psalm 62:1-6
