Introduction aspenONE Exchange is the world’s first content marketplace specifically for the process industries. It is a

cloud-hosted repository of material, developed for engineers by engineers, accessible from within the

Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus user interfaces. Available content includes: equipment selection tools,

process models and flow sheets, training materials, and more. aspenONE Exchange is continually

updated with new material from AspenTech and approved third parties, so you can stay current with

best practices in the process industries.

aspenONE Exchange is a powerful tool for expediting and enhancing your process designs. Whether you

need training or a sample model to get started on a new process, you are looking for a solution to

overcome a difficult design problem, or you want equipment specification information to incorporate

into your flow sheet, you can easily search for and integrate the necessary content without leaving the

Aspen HYSYS or Aspen Plus user interface.

This document covers aspenONE Exchange in Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus. This guide assumes that the

user has Aspen HYSYS or Aspen Plus V8.2 or higher installed on their computer.

In addition to providing access to a consolidated library of AspenTech engineering content, aspenONE

Exchange also lets you share and download approved third party applications. Third parties can work

with AspenTech to make any kind of content available: equipment selection tools, models and

flowsheets, Microsoft Excel sheets, and more.

Accessing aspenONE Exchange aspenONE Exchange automatically opens up when you start up Aspen HYSYS or Aspen Plus V8.2. If you

have already opened a model but want to access aspenONE Exchange, you can click the Exchange

button in the Get Started tab on the ribbon (Figure 1).

Logging In and Customizing My Exchange aspenONE Exchange is customized to each user, so it’s easy to keep track of your activities and relocate

Apps that you have downloaded in the past. In order to log in, you must use your AspenTech Support

ID. You can request a support ID at http://support.aspentech.com. If you do not log in, you will only be

able to access some of the features of aspenONE Exchange.

Once you are logged in, you will see your name appear in the My Exchange navigation on the right. View

your history under My Downloads and Browse History. You can collapse this window by clicking the

arrow (Figure 2).

Click on the type icon for any previous download to learn more about it, reopen it, or even remove it

from your history (Figure 3). Alternatively, you can right click on the title.

To clear your Browse History, click on the eraser button (Figure 4).

To edit any of your settings for aspenONE Exchange, click on the gear button next to My Exchange

(Figure 5).

Search and Filters Entering a Query

aspenONE Exchange makes it easy to find the right content using AspenTech’s proprietary core search

component. To get started, enter a key word or phrase into the search bar in the upper left corner.

aspenONE Exchange will make suggestions as you type (Figure 6).

Once you type in your query, press the Enter key or click on the magnifying glass button to the right of

the search bar. aspenONE Exchange will search through all of its content (including inside of models and

flowsheets) and return all applicable items.

Use the arrows on the right and left to scroll through the returned content (Figure 7).

Filtering Your Search

In some cases, your search will return a large variety of content. To help determine exactly what you

want to download, it is helpful to use filters to sort through the results. In Figure 8, we see that the

search for “atmospheric crude tower” yields a variety of flowsheets and models. These are already

grouped by App Type, but they can also be sorted by Process using the filters on the left.

It is possible to apply more than one filter to generate a very specific search. The list of active filters will

appear underneath the search bar. To remove one, click the X on the right (Figure 9).

Viewing and Downloading Content Content Details

At any point, you can hover over or click on an App to view more information about it. Figure 10 shows

the window that appears when you click on an App. Again, you can use the right and left arrows to

scroll between items in a specific category.

Downloading Content

Once you have reviewed an App and decided that you want to download it, click on the green play

button in the upper right corner of the details window (Figure 11).
