2012 YEAR OF CELEBRATION
..the righteous are glad; they rejoice before God and celebrate with joy.” Psalm 68:3 HCSB
AMERICAN CELEBRATION COOKOUT
Sunday, July 1st
5:30 PM
At the ROC
An evening of fellowship and food!
Pastor's Corner:
Summer is here! Can you believe
it? This year is racing by at an
unbelievable speed.
Our Vacation Bible School in June was
a success. I appreciate Mandy Lower and the army
of volunteers who donated their time and energy to
make a positive impact on others. We had classes
for people of all ages. Kids, teenagers, and adults
had a wonderful time of growing and
bonding. Thank you VBS workers for all of your
efforts. May God bless you richly!
We have a big event coming up on Sunday,
July 1. It is our "American Celebration
Cookout." It will take place in the ROC at 5:30
pm. The church will provide hamburgers and
hotdogs. We're asking the congregation to bring
your favorite side dish and/or dessert. We are going
to celebrate America and enjoy good fellowship with
each other.
Believe it or not, work is already being done on this
to write a devotional for this year's book? If so,
contact our church office (385.5154) and let us
know.
We have "revived" our Five Dollar-A-Week
Club. The money that is raised will go to capital
improvements, beginning with the new sound
system we are about to purchase. In case you don't
know, write "Five Dollar-A-Week Club" on the
envelope that has your money and that will make
sure your money goes to the fund.
As for Lara, the kids, and me, we are doing
well. We enjoyed a great school year, but it is nice
to take a good break from the routine and enjoy
some rest and travel. During the month of July, I'll
take a few days off to focus on the family and
recharge the batteries.
So there you have it. That's the latest. God is good
and we all are blessed.
See you soon at First Baptist Sebring!

MINISTER OF MUSIC preaching the word of God happened. They contributed (1 Corinthians 16:1-2, Acts 2:42). This was a voluntary offering on the part of members so the Lord's work could be done. Christians will want to fellowship and worship with faithful churches. There is no perfect local churches, but there are churches whose leadership and members are committed to follow the New Testament model. The best experiences of our life will come, probably because we belong to a local church. Determine that you will worship in the local church where you are, whatever God wants. Shake hands of your brothers and sisters in Christ, lift your voice in praise and worship to the Father, glorify the Son, and adore him in spirit and truth! May God Bless You, Nuno

PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR
Church Family, Summer is in full swing! It is hard to believe how fast time is going. We are preparing for our big trip to Lynch, KY July 8th-13th for our week of missions and VBS. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated. Our students are eager as well as they have begun to reconnect with students in KY on Facebook and other social media. Upon our return, we would love to give you an update on what the Lord accomplished for His Kingdom during that week.
What do we do when we gather to worship God in a local church? There are only two possibilities: do what we want or what God says. True Christians will do what God says in His word. Jesus warned about those who worship God in vain, "teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" (Matthew 15:8-9). The acts of worship must consist of what God wants. What did they do? They sing (Colossians 3:16, Ephesians 5:19). God specified that the church should sing. They prayed (Ephesians 6:18, 1Timothy 2:1,8, Acts 2:42). God is honored when men raise their voices and their hearts to him in prayer. Plus, the man cannot receive the greatest blessing of his brethren than the gift it receives when the collective prayers of the local church are sent to heaven (Acts 12:5, 2 Corinthians 1:11). They share the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 11:17-34, 10:16). The early Christians partook of the Lord's Supper in remembrance of him. They heard the word of God (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 14:19). Teaching, reading, and
Sunday night, July 15th, we will share with you all what happened. Thank you in advance for your prayerful support. As for the rest of the summer, we are busy with events keeping our students together. Fun events are planned and placed on the church calendar for easy viewing. Stay plugged in and have a wonderful summer! Blessings, Joseph Delph

Dear church family,
During this time of sorrow we learn how very much our
family and friends mean to us. Thank you so much for
your kindness and sympathy at a tine when it was
deeply appreciated. The flowers meant so much and
thanks for the good meal the ladies prepared.
Sincerely,
The Family of Jack Roberts Barrowman
Dear church family,
