Hey there Key Clubbers, I hope you guys are having the best summer ever! Even though school’s over, the service never stops! Keep on the lookout for future service events. Secure your spot at this year’s DCON by racking up service hours. We have events like Kent Parks and Kent

Cornucopia coming up for you guys. In addition to service events, there’s the best part about summer-- Key Club Rallies! Rallies are similar to DCON in that they have workshops, talent portions, and more. Tacoma Rally is coming up, so get excited! It’s this Monday 9am to 5pm, at Harrison Prep. If you need a ride there, don’t be afraid to ask! Seattle Rally is nearby-- it’s at Northwood Middle School! Don’t miss out on this chance to attend a rally. It’s on July 29th at 9am to 4pm. It’ll be tons of fun, so I really recommend that you all go. More information on both Tacoma Rally and Seattle Rally have already been posted to our Facebook group. Also our officer board is planning on hosting a club meet-ing/social event this summer, make sure to stay posted for more details in the future! Can’t wait to see you guys at all of these events. In love and service, Jessica Lou Kentridge Key Club President 2015-2016

This year the KR and KM officers held the 4th annual Kent’s Amazing Race.

With 17 participating teams the race was a huge success! Don’t worry if you were-

n't able to participate, you can read all about it here!

On June 20, 2015, 17 teams prepared for the long day ahead at the Ken-

tridge tennis courts. Starting at 11:00 am the teams had to search the campus for

their “waldo” which held their team packet and clue to the next challenge. These

talented teams seemed to have no trouble and were quickly moving on to the

next challenge.

The teams made their way to Emerald Park Elementary where they dug

through plastic Easter eggs to find the one containing their next clue. At Meridian

Middle School they put their brains to the test when they were asked a variety of

SAT questions. At Clark Lake Park they helped Ammara find the invasive plants.

These dedicated teams then had to hike to East Hill Park where they found

themselves throwing ping pongs at peanut butter. The teams got a quick break at

the next challenge where they answered math problems in McDonalds. The

teams made it to KM where they counted bleachers, frog leaped around the track

(which was brutal), and found the finish line.

All the teams tried their hardest and had the best attitudes despite it felt like

a 100 degrees outside. In the end the winning teams was “Group 1” with a tie for

second place between “ PPHD” and “Casa de Gatos.”

The race wouldn't have been possible without all the hard work from the KR

and KM officers and volunteers. A huge thank you to Theresa Tran who organized

and ran the entire race! I hope to see all you guys at next years race!

This June DCM was no ordinary event, but rather a classy banquet held

by our awesome LTG. This June DCM was an installation banquet for all the in-

coming officers and doubled as a sweet send off to our amazing seniors! This

semi formal event took place at Hazen High School where the seniors said their

last goodbyes and the clubs enjoyed a delicious potluck! It was certainly a night

no body will forget!

Not only did the Kent’s Amazing Race take place this June, but we also had

our last club meeting/ hangout of the school year. We celebrated the end of school

with one last hangout in room 106, playing icebreakers and having an amazing

time. We can’t wait to make more memories with you guys next year!

We also had an end of the school year food drive to help out our local food

banks who run low this time of year. Thank you to all those who brought in food!

with your favorite group of people, but you will get to do so on a amazing re-

to the test. You and a team will work together and complete tasks for the upcom-

ing Seattle Rally.

But wait! There’s more good news, key clubbers wont be the only ones

there. You will be joined by old LTG’s and Kiwanis members! If your going to the

Seattle Rally I really recommend coming for you will get to learn chants and help

Have a question? Email anyone of us via school email!

I am proud to announce that our

member of the month is Theresa Tran! This

girl dedicated the end of her school year to

both the club and the amazing race. Work-

ing around the clock to make sure things

ran smoothly, she not only made the race

a success, but managed to juggle school

work as well. She stayed strong through

finals and kept up the great work as the

clubs VP. She has done so much for the

club this year and I can’t wait to see what

success she brings us next year! Thanks for

all your hard work Theresa!

Shout out to those who have been continuing to volunteer throughout the sum-

mer! I know its hard, but every hour you spend volunteering is an hour well spent.

Keep up the good work! Our community thanks you!
