The SubAla & WorkersFirst Convention will take place

July 9-12, 2020 at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

in Florida. Most of our activities and meetings will take

place on the Bayside of the resort. The Grand Complex

offers guests the opportunity to be located within steps

from the activities of the Village of Baytowne Wharf

and Sandestin’s Baytowne Conference Center. Hip hap-

penings abound, with street performers, concerts, festi-

vals and family-friendly attractions that are fun gath-

erings for Sandestin guests to attend. Luxury Destin va-

cation rentals of the Grand Complex include the Grand

Sandestin, Lasata, Bahia and Elation. Be just steps

Preliminary Schedule

THURSDAY, JULY 9th Check-In/Registration 3:00-6:00 PM

Check in will be held in The Grand’s lobby. Our

table will be to the left of the resort’s welcome

desk. We will have a welcome packet along with a

few goodies for you.

Directors & Trustees Meeting 3:00-6:00 PM

This a closed meeting for SubAla Board Members.

The location of the meeting will be on the 2nd

floor of the Baytowne Conference Center in Azalea

Ballroom III.

Welcome Reception 6:30-8:00 PM

Join us in Magnolia Foyer and Veranda of the

Baytowne Conference Center for a casual night of

networking. We will have appetizers, an open bar

and door prizes for all ages. A group of us will

walk to the Village at Baytowne Wharf after the

reception, we would love for you to join us!!

FRIDAY, JULY 10th

Late Registration 8:00-11:00 AM

If you are joining us late or just arriving, make

sure to grab your registration packet and gifts

from Jan Simmons. The location of the

registration table will be on the second floor of

the Baytowne Conference Center in the Azalea

Foyer.

Breakfast 8:00–8:45 AM

Rise and shine for a buffet

breakfast in the

beautiful Magnolia Breezeway

outside of the Baytowne

Conference Center. The buffet

will include eggs, bacon,

grits, assorted fruits and

muffins. We will also have

coffee, tea and fruit juices.

SubAla Meeting 8:45-9:15 AM

After breakfast, join us on the

second floor of the Baytowne

Conference Center in Azalea

Ballroom III. We will thank and

recognize our current president,

Mark Bratton with Summit

Electrical Construction.

Business Session Meeting 9:15-11:30 AM

We will have a special guest(s) speak on a hot

topic related to the construction industry. The

meeting will be located in the Baytowne

Conference Center in Azalea Ballroom III. More

information on our guest speaker coming soon!

FRIDAY, JULY 10th CONTINUED:

Day at the Beach 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM

Come relax on the beach with us! Drive over or

take a resort tram to the beach side. We will have

reserved beach access (look for our SubAla flag!)

for our group. We will rent a few chairs and

umbrellas, but hurry it’s a first come basis. Under

the tent we will have coolers and snacks for eve-

ryone. Leave your worries behind and don’t forget

your sunscreen!!

OPTIONAL Friday Night on the beach

7:00 PM - ??

Friday night is a free night but this year we are

also offering a relaxing evening watching the

sunset on the beach (weather permitting). We will

provide a bonfire, smores and crab catching kits

for the kids. Enjoy a low key evening overlooking

the emerald coast.

SATURDAY, JULY 11th

Golf Tournament (Optional) 9:15 AM

The tournament will take place at Baytowne Golf

Course. We are not providing transportation to

the course. If you need a ride or would like to car-

pool, please contact David Campbell from SubAla.

If you wish to warm up at the range, please arrive

around 8:30 AM. We will provide drinks, snacks

and lunch. Winner’s will be announced and

awarded at the Saturday night dinner.

Pool Party 10:30 AM– 1:30 PM

Grab your towel and join us at the Grand Pool

located in the center of the Grand Complex. We

will try to reserve as many chairs as possible

along the deep end of the pool. We should be

easy to spot with our SubAla beach chairs and

coolers. We will have fun competitions for all

ages (including adults!). Need some shade? The

hospitality suite will be open during this time.

Easy access from the pool– just look for the

SubAla sign. Suite 2106. In case it rains, come

network in the hospitality suite.

Saturday Night Dinner & Party

6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

A grand farewell! Join us for a yummy dinner in

the Baytowne Conference Center. Here we will

announce our winners for the Chisenhall Award,

golf awards and attendance awards. Then enjoy

a fun night with great entertainment for all

ages.

SUNDAY, JULY 12th Check out for the resort is 11:00 AM. Please be

safe traveling home.
