Conference Will ProvideAttendees Connections For Success

Small Business expert Hector V. Barreto will kick offMonday morning at the Napa Chambers E3 Economics,Education, Expectations conference by providing inspirationaland thoughtful advice on making it as an entrepreneur.

We are fortunate to have Hector leading off this conference. His insight on the current economic climate will help us manageour expectations for 2011, said Napa Chamber President &CEO Lisa Batto.

Barreto served five years as the Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration after being appointed byPresident George W. Bush and unanimously approved by theUnited States Senate on July 25, 2001. During his stewardship, the SBA exceeded all previous records in small business loans, women and minority owned business support, disaster relief andprivate-public sector procurement opportunities. Barreto directedthe delivery of financial and business development programs to

Americas entrepreneurs from a portfolio of direct, guaranteed and disaster loans totaling morethan $45 billion. Earlier this year he was appointed by Governor Schwarzenegger to serve on theCalifornia Commission for Economic Development. Barreto also serves as the Chairman of TheLatino Coalition, a national organization that represents Latino interests with senior executives ofmany Fortune 500 companies and government agencies both federal and local.

Mr. Barreto also serves as Chairman of Business Matchmaking, the nations leading non-profit small business procurement program. Business Matchmaking brings together countlessentrepreneurs, including women, minority and veteran owned small business owners withprocurement representatives of federal and local government agencies and several hundred majorcorporations. The four year program has been responsible for over 80,000 face to face meetingsand facilitated the granting of more than $8,000,000,000 in contracts for small firms.

In addition to Mr. Barreto, the E3 Conference will provide a full agenda of speakers toassist our community businesses with the ongoing transition and vision needed to evolve and besuccessful as the local, national, and global economies move into 2011.
