SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND—CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICES COLLECTION The Catholic Relief Services Collection works at home and abroad to give aid to struggling, poor, and underrepresented families. The six worldwide organizations supported by the collection provide humanitarian aid, pastoral support, and disaster relief to our suffering brothers and sisters around the globe. This collection offers an opportunity for each of us to help Jesus in disguise. Please give generously to the Catholic Relief Services Collection.

ALTAR & ROSARY MEETING

The Altar & Rosary Society will meet on Wednesday, August 5th, at 6:30PM in the Rectory.

CHURCH SOFTBALL NEWS Our softball team has now completed all their games and make-up games. We played a week ago on Friday against Braintrim Baptist and lost 19-14. Last Saturday we played Towanda Assembly of God and won 20-8. We had our final make-up game this Thursday against Herrickville and won 13-10. We finished the season with only one loss and are the number one team in the league. Congratulations to all of our team members on a great season!

The Tournament will be held next Saturday, July 25th.

ST. AUGUSTINE CEMETERY NEWS

St. Augustine's Cemetery - no artificial flowers are allowed between May and November. Existing flowers can be found next to the shed. If you have any questions, please contact Joe Monahan at 607-669-4598.

BUS TRIP TO PHILADELPHIA TO SEE POPE FRANCIS

We have room for (2) more people on the bus to see the Pope. Please call the Rectory (570-553-2288) as soon as possible if you would like to attend. Please feel free to invite friends from outside the Parish to attend so that we can fill the bus! The date is Sunday, September 27th. Cost per person is $ 50.00 per person. Meals are extra. (Or you can bring a

brown bag lunch.) You may begin paying at any time.

HALF DAY RETREAT TO BE HELD AT ST. AUGUSTINE CHURCH

A Half Day Retreat will be held at St. Augustine Church, on Saturday, October 3rd, from 9:00AM to 1:00PM. The Retreat Leader will be Marilee Beyer. The topic will be Our Blessed Mother. The Day will open at 9:00AM with Mass celebrated by Fr. Cas, Followed by a Lesson, Stations of the Cross as seen through the eyes of Mary, the Mother of Jesus (Stations will be outside if weather permits), Meditation, small group discussions, snacks, and time for sharing. Closing will be at 12:30PM with Exposition of the Holy Eucharist done by Deacon Ken Brennan. Please bring your own chair and snacks. The Retreat is open to everyone.

FREE FOOD DISTRIBUTION VIA THE WEINBERG FOOD BANK This free food distribution for those in need is for SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY. Any resident of Susquehanna County who needs food is welcome. Distribution will be held THIS TUESDAY, JULY 21, 12Noon to 2:00PM & 5-6PM at the Little Meadows United Methodist Church. Please note that the evening times have changed. For Susquehanna County residents, with need only, please.

RABIES CLINIC A Rabies Clinic will be held at the Little Meadows Fire Station on Monday, July 27th, from 5 to 6PM. Please have your pet on a leash or in a crate. Cost is $ 10.00 each. Benefits the Little Meadows Fire Company.

ST. CYRIL’S PARISH FESTIVAL St. Cyril’s Parish, 148 Clinton St, Binghamton, will hold their Festival on Sunday, July 26th, from 11:30AM to 6:30PM. Admission is free. There will be Chicken BBQ, Ethnic Foods, Raffles, (including a $ 3000.00 raffle), games for children and adults, Bake Sale, and Ice Cream. There will be live music 11:30 to 1:30 by The Accords; 1:30 to 2:30 the Moravian Dancers; and 2;30 to 6:30 Nyshot’s Groove. There will also be live Radio Broadcasts by 1290’s Barb Mack and 100.5FM’s Bill Flynn. Come join us for a fun filled day!

POT O’GOLD PARTY

“St. Brigid Parish ~ Pot O’Gold Party” will be held Sunday October 25th, 2015 at 1:00PM in Neumann Hall, Choconut. This will be an “Elimination Party”. A limited number (115) tickets are available at $ 100.00 each. Each ticket admits one person plus a guest to the party. Included in the ticket price will be beer/wine/and buffet style food. Over $ 8000.00 in prizes will be awarded including a grand prize of $ 3000.00. Everyone who buys a ticket will go home with at least a door prize. On the day of the party at intermission as many raffle tickets as possible will be sold for $ 5.00 each for (8) separate raffles for (8) more $ 100.00 tickets. There will also be as many raffle tickets as possible sold for $ 10.00 each for (2) separate raffles for (2) more $ 100.00 tickets. These final (10) tickets can only be awarded to someone who already holds one of the original 115 tickets. If you would like to purchase a “Pot O’Gold” Party ticket, please contact John or Mary Butler (570-553-2199) or the Parish Office (570-553-2288). Parishioners are encouraged to get their tickets early. We need help from individual Parishioners/individual people or families/businesses in the following ways. We need (24) sponsors of $ 100.00 each; (2) sponsors of $ 250.00 each; (2) sponsors of $ 500.00 each; (1) sponsor (or a few to share the sponsorship) of $ 1,500.00; and (1) sponsor (or a few to share the sponsorship) of $ 3,000.00. If you would like to be a sponsor, please call the Parish Office (570-553-2288) OR call John or Mary Butler (570-553-2199). We need donations of a total of 96 door prizes. These could include bottles of wine, restaurant gift certificates, other gift certificates, bird feeders, bird feed, gift baskets, lottery tickets, sewing supplies, shop supplies, work lights, a pallet of stone, Irish items, items for pets, gardening items, etc. Only your imagination is the limit on what one of these prizes could be. PICNIC NEWS 191st St. Augustine’s Annual Picnic—Sunday, August 2nd—11:30AM TO 4:00PM

The menu is: Barbecue Chicken, Macaroni Salad, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Desserts, Rolls, Butter, and Beverages. You may dine in or take out. Cost for adults is $ 8.50 in advance / $ 9.00 at the door; children 5 to 12—$ 4.00; under 5 are free. There will be a Country Store, Bingo, Games, Refreshments, Raffles and Music. Come on out and enjoy the day!!!

Calendar of Events: Currently—Raffle Tickets and Food Donations may be placed in the collection basket at weekend Masses or returned by mail to the Rectory., Continuing thru July 26—Advance tickets may be purchased at the weekend Masses. Advance tickets are $ 8.50. Tickets at the door are $ 9.00. (Change of date) July 27—(Monday) Coleslaw will be made from beginning at 10:00AM at Neumann Hall. Advance tickets will also be available.
