A special experience that will bring you behind the scenes! Day 1 Sat. July 13 Join us at one of our 8 departure cities as we travel by motorcoach to Minneapolis and then depart on an afternoon nonstop flight to Reykjavik. Day 2 Sun. July 14 We arrive in Reykjavik where we will enjoy a welcome dinner. (D) Day 3 Mon. July 15 Our big day starts with an orientation drive of cosmopolitan Reykjavik, a visit to the Hellisheidarvirkjunand geothermal Power Station and hot springs at the Geysir geothermal area. We will taste freshly baked bread, baked using the heat from the hot springs, with Icelandic butter, boiled eggs and herring, and a glass of Geysir schnapps, served at freezing point. Then, marvel at the mighty Gullfoss Waterfall and stop in Thingvellir a geological paradise. Here, you will walk through the rift valley. (B,D) Day 4 Tues. July 16 A real treat! At Hauganes, embark for an unforgettable experience of watching whales in their natural habitat! Continue to Akureyri for your overnight stay. (B,D) Day 5 Wed. July 17 We will visit the Icelandic Botanical Garden, featuring specimens of almost all native Icelandic plants. Then we will admire Godafoss, known as the “Waterfall of the Gods.” On to one of Iceland’s prettiest areas, the lovely blue Lake Myvatn with a stop by the nature baths, a set of geothermally heated pools and steam baths. Before arriving in Borgarfjordur Eystri, we will take pictures of the most powerful waterfall in Europe, Dettifoss (road conditions permitting). This day is also our best chance of seeing puffins, known as the “clown of the sea.” (B,D) Day 6 Thurs. July 18 In the morning, we will enjoy a “Meet the Locals” walking tour and hear about life in the rural Icelandic countryside over the centuries. The motorcoach will follow the eastern coast, where the first Irish missionaries settled some 200 years ago, and we will end our day in Hofn. (B,D) Day 7 Fri. July 19 We start the day with a stop at Lake Jokulsarlon, where some of the most spectacular scenes of the James Bond movie Die Another Day were filmed. We will see how the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajokull, flows into the lake, forming icebergs. An exciting optional boat trip is available through the icebergs. Drive through the National Park at Skaftafell and arrive at your overnight hotel. Day 1 Sat. July 13 Join us at one of our 8 departure cities as we travel by motorcoach

to Minneapolis and then depart on an afternoon nonstop flight to Reykjavik.

Day 2 Sun. July 14 We arrive in Reykjavik where we will enjoy a welcome dinner. (D)

Day 3 Mon. July 15 Our big day starts with an orientation drive of cosmopolitan

Day 8 Sat. July 20 Today is all about the South shore. We will enjoy views of the

Eyjafjallajokull volcano, well known for the eruption that generated the massive ash

cloud in 2010, and then we will stop at the spectacular Seljalandsfoss waterfall before

returning to Reykjavik. This afternoon, join an optional excursion to the Blue Lagoon.

Tonight, a farewell dinner awaits at one of Reykjavik’s fine restaurants to celebrate

your Icelandic Adventure. (B,D)

Day 9 Sun. July 21 Our vacation comes to an end with breakfast this morning and a

transfer to the airport for our nonstop flight back to Minneapolis. A motorcoach will

be waiting to return us back to our departure cities. (B)
