After graduating from the ETH, he took up a research post for three years at Princeton University in the US, following which he returned to Switzerland. He joined UBS in 1996 as a client relationship manager. He has held a variety of management positions and since 2009 has been Head of UBS Global Asset Management Switzerland, member of the Executive Board of UBS Switzerland and member of the UBS Global Asset Management Executive Committee. He works in the interests of a strong Swiss financial center by being the Chairman of SwissBanking's commission on institutional asset management and a member of the Swiss Federal Commission on Occupational Pensions.
