  • Objectives To compare the frequency of use of ultrasound technology in the pregnant patient at KU Med and Auckland City Hospital To identify the views of New Zealand OBGYNs and OB patients about the use of routine ultrasound evaluations in the pregnant patient and evaluate patient concerns about ultrasonography To compare the indications for ultrasound evaluation in the pregnant patient at KU Med and Auckland City Hospital

  • Frequency of Ultrasound Frequency of ultrasound is extremely similar Major difference: all high risk obstetricians in NZ do their own scans vs ultrasound techs at KUMC 2 scans for all low risk pregnancies (early pregnancy and growth scan) High risk OB involves frequent ultrasounds depending on diagnosis
